    What to bake?

I want to bake DF something special to cheer him up. Thing is hes verrrry fussy with baking, he looooooves chocolate white dark and milk and loves cookies, cakes and slices.
So any ideas for something special that doesnt take all day to make?

Cookies are so easy and you can combine both types of chocolate. I also have a recipe for a wicked chocolate slice that I've posted on here. Both wont take you all afternoon either.

ETA - here it is http://forums.bellybelly.com.au/foru...e-ganache.html

awww lauren! You are such a good cook, I'm sure you can bake up a storm!

I would say to do something simple, basic.... if you want it to go into the oven (as opposed to a chocolate pudding....) than a biscuit slice might be nice... or just a plain ol chocolate chip biscuit, do an American style gooey one!

My chocolate chip biscuit is very simple and you can play with the recipe

    2 1/2 cups plain flour
    1 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp bicarb soda
    2 eggs
    250gm butter unsalted
    1 cup brown sugar
    1/2 cup castor sugar
    1 tsp vanilla bean paste
    250gm dark chocolate bits

*my normal add ins are: 1/4 cup sweet potato puree, take out 1/4 cup white sugar... 1/4 cup walnuts chopped finely, 1 tbsp linseeds ground well*

**if you want white chocolate or milk chocolate bits, maybe lessen the sugar content? **

    Basic recipe:
Cream the butter and sugars together, then add eggs one at a time, add vanilla (I add in my sweet potato now too). Combine the flour, baking powder, bicarb soda and 1/2 tsp salt together. Add 1/2 cup flour mix into the wet mix until combined and then repeat until mix is gone. If the mix is too dry, add 1 tbsp milk to moisten enough. Fold in chocolate bits or dry add ins.
