    Premade Cake/Muffin Mixture?

MIL works as a cook in a childcare centre and a couple of months back she gave me a bag of powder that they use to make muffins.

She said all you do is add water and any flavours etc that you want.

I had forgotten all about it until today and realised my bananas were looking a little yuck so mushed them up, put in some powder and water with a tiny bit of vanilla essence and they smell wonderful.

Have used my mini mini muffin tins so they are DD1's size and will freeze some.

Has anyone ever heard of this stuff and what other ideas have you got for me, other fruits, flavours etc that i can use for little snacks for DD1.

If anyone else is interested i will ask where she gets it and let you know how they turn out!

never heard of it but if you can find out more about it please do sounds great!!

you could do some vege ones grate some carrot, zucchini in some corn kernels maybe a bit of ham ... both my girls love these and DD1 gets to take them to school as a "treat" but still be getting something healthy

I buy multi purpose muffin mixes from Coles. I put mini M&m's, choc chips, banana or tinned berries in them.

SUCCESS - they taste wonderful, straight out of the oven... mmmmmm

I love the idea of the veggie ones with Ham and the tinned berries.

Tinks your making my mouth water... i best stay away from chocolate or DD wont get any at all

How long can i freeze them for aswell?

ETA: just called MIL, they order it in in 25kg bags or something and she hasn't seen it anywhere else, she's going to bring me home some more

You could freeze them for a couple of months I reckon. I freeze mine but they don't last a week

Grated apple and cinnamon is another fave here.

Stephanie Alexander has a multi purpose muffin mix recipe that you can make in bulk and store to use as needed and it's completely natural and very very easy to make.

    Thanks Rouge...

Ohhh thought of another one thanks to MIL who mentioned sultanas.

Grated Apple (as very small muffin tins) & Sultana

Am going to try these today as i have those ingredients, then after shopping on Monday will make the savory ones ~*MrsS*~ suggested, we are going to an animal farm for MG on Tues so might take them for all the kids to snack on... thx hun!

ETA - Mmmm they are baking now, added some cinnamon dusting sugar on top. I could bake every day if it was always JUST ADD WATER
