We're going to have a pizza as dp doesnt finish work until 9.45! I might make some potato wedges though and have salad too as I don't actually like pizza so much - then I can eat the wedges and salad and he can have the pizza lol - ideal!
Well I did the right thing and cooked a big, hearty casserole with dumplings last night, made a double batch so there's plenty of leftovers, I'm considering just reheating it? It's one of DH's new favourites, so I don't think he'll mind terribly if I put it in front of him again!!
Either that, or steak and vegies, because I haven't put them in the freezer yet from when I did the shopping the other day so I'd best be using them ASAP!! Might put them in the freezer a bit later on (I'll ask DH what he prefers lol, he hates having to make the decisions!) and have them later in the week seeing as we had beef last night (in the casserole). I like to mix it up a bit, chicken, then beef, then pork, then chicken, then lamb, etc...
When I did grocery shopping last week I saw this roll up roast at Lenard's....Its a Chicken Honey Macadamia Roast so that is for dinner tonight with steamed vege!! And Roast Corn....YUMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ah Nelle, don't worry about the house. Your friends will be so blown away by the awesome meal (which sounds brilliant BTW, if you ever get a chance to post the recipe, I'll love you even more than I do now) that they won't even notice the mess.
Have fun!!
As for what we're having for dinner tonight, it's Tight-wad Tuesday, so $5 pizza. Dodgy as, but it beats cooking. Last night was much more impressive (and healthy) - chicken in mushroom marsala sauce with baked potatoes, beans, asparagus and broccoli.
Bad, bad wife night. Spag bol... but I'm just that lazy I'm not even making it from scratch, just using a jar of Leggo's sauce stuff!! DH goes to night courses at TAFE on Tuesdays so I plan something that can be cooked from start to mouth in under half an hour, then he gets home and tells me he doesn't want to eat until he gets home at 9pm so I could well have made the effort and done something more...
BUT, it still makes life easier because DD chucks a nanie if daddy's not here to put her to bed, so by the time I finally get her sorted I'll be grateful that dinner only takes ten minutes.
