home made BBQ chicken Pizza on turkish bread..
We are having homemade pizza too.
Ham and pineapple and BBQ chicken
^ Yum :) I had my first experiment with yeast the other night making home-made pizza dough, it was heaps easier than I anticipated and turned out great!!
Turkish bread is just as good though! I used to make mini-pizzas on pita bread bases but our local Woolworths was selling mouldy pita bread so I stopped buying it because I couldn't get anything without green and black fuzz :(
Oooh, that sounds good Christy. My mum and aunty and coming up from Melbourne next week and I am getting a butterflied leg of lamb, I've got this wonderful Greek spice blend (from Herbies in Rozelle) to marinate it in, and I do it on the barbecue with haloumi, potatoes, tzaziki and Greek salad. Or middle-eastern with hummus and couscous salad. I'm just rediscovering lamb and it's so wonderful.
Yeah we have lamb a few times a week now. We had marinated lamb in rosemary, lemon and garlic and popped it on kebab sticks alternated with haloumi on the BBQ and then served with lemon garlic potatoes and spinach salad... yummo!
So tonight, I'm doing a balsamic marinade with the lamb and then grilled and served over salad.
Right, you've inspired me Christy! Lamb and haloumi kebabs sound fabbo. Out of curiosity, what cut of lamb do you use for kebabs?
Opps sorry.... I just ask my butcher for lamb diced for kebabs and he does it for me  I love my butcher... I tell him what I want to make & he gives me what I want. It was beautiful!
tonight we had chicken chasseur and rice :) and nice crusty bread with it...
were having thai pumkin soup and Zucchini & cheddar scones
hmmm tonight we are having a baked dinner...i am NOT cooking it...my MIL has offered it...so we happily said YES :D
Tonight it is roast lamb with roast spuds, roast carrots, roast onion, steamed broccoli and gravy. Dessert will be apple pie probably... so not good for my waist but perfect weather for a roast and the left overs will be used for lunch tomorrow.
steak and vegies here tonight :D
We're having leftover corned silverside with potatoes, carrots, brussel sprouts, beans and white parsley sauce.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmm...
Getting into the slow cooker again now it's cooler so thinking of casseroles for this week.
roast chicken with crispy potatoes, baked onion, carrot, sweet potatoe, pumpkin and peas & corn
Home made pizza.. on pita bread and a nice glass of red!
Last night we had the best dinner! A boned leg of lamb with garlic and rosemary, baked potatoes which turned out really crisp on the outside and nice inside and baked mediterranean vegies (eggplant, zucchini, baby tomatoes, capsicum and red onion) baked in olive oil with italian herbs sprinkled on them!!
After that triumph tonight we are having steak sangas LOL
Sounds like dinner here tonight.
Roast lamb, marinated in garlic, rosemary, lemon juice. Roast potato, sweet potato and pumpkin with garlic, rosemary and olive oil, and blanched green beans. Home made gravy *drool*
YUM Christy!!
Oh wow, my mouth is watering hearing about those roasts!!!!!
Tonight we just had lamb cutlets and mushrooms in the pan, with steamed potato, broccoli and carrots. DD had an egg instead of the chops.
I had my home made chutney on the side though!
Followed by a scone with home made plum jam and cream.... naughty :)
I have half a kilo of chicken thawing for tomorrow night. I might do crock pot.
Any suggestions?
Wow, lol so much effort from you guys!! I've been having a mad slack week so far... last night it was going to be scratch (ie I heat up a can of soup and DH scrounged whatever he could hahaha, I forgot to take the mince out to make meatloaf!), then mum called and asked if we wanted to have sausages on bread at the marina... DD and I went, DH stayed home and made himself some fried eggs lol...
Then tonight was shopping night (I'm too preggo to push a trolley now so I have to get DH to help me after he knocks off work), usually that means one of those stirfy things where you just cook the chicken strips, throw in some vegies, pour a jar of sauce over it and serve it with rice... but DH wanted dinner in a hurry so he suggested McDonald's :/ Bad, I know, but we haven't had it for ages and DD was keen on 'nuggies and chippies' so I figure a couple of bad days is alright providing I pull together and make some effort for the rest of the week!
So tomorrow... I'm thinking either steak and vegies with mushroom sauce, or a hearty beef stew with carrot, celery and bacon. Depending on the weather :D
dinner is on cooking now....STEW :)
We are having the swiss or swedish what ever they are called meatballs from IKEA for dinner. YUMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!
Tonight is home made pumpkin soup... am considering roasting the pumpkin first but will see how I feel when I go to make it!
Tonight we are having my DH's absolute favourite: Mushroom, chrorizo and paremesan risotto :) I am making a massive trough of the stuff so he has lunch for work for the rest of the week! x
We are having soup too MG.
Ours is barley & veg with a can of tomato soup chucked in. I have added about 5 diff. herbs and 7types of veggies so should be yum. I might serve DD's over rice to chunk it up a bit so she can manage it. She is 15months and wanting to feed herself but not very proficient with a spoon. :)
Rissoto sounds yum. I do one with pumpkin, mushroom, asparagus and lentils in it.... might have that later in the week.
last night we had crumbed steak with chips, peas and carrots
tonight is boring snags, mash and vege of some sort
spag bol pasta bake! yum yum
last night was left over roast pork from sunday night yummo
I will gladly share the love, AJP. I have the recipe on my personal blog. Can I post a link to it? Otherwise I can copy and paste it (but then there won't be any yummy progress pictures!).
x
Tonight is Cauli Rice Risotto, made with Chicken, Bacon, sliced asparagus and mushies :D
Nomnoms. I'm supposed to be baking easter egg cookies atm but I'm slothing instead. Had a big cleaning day and just feel like resting. So I might make those for dessert.
But I also might light a fire and have smores for dessert instead... decisions decisions.
I have just had a look around and realised that we can post a link to our personal blog. If I have it wrong, then please feel free to remove it, mods :)
Wild Mushroom, Bacon and Pine Nut Risotto Recipe
The above is the original recipe. Here are my notes and substitutions:
I substitute the bacon with 2 or 3 chorizo sausages. Cut each sausage lengthways into quarters and then slice them (so you end up with small bits). Fry the sausage, but reserve the fat that boils out of them (yes, I know, very cardiac-friendly!). Pour this fat onto the onions before you start frying them as it adds some great flavour to the dish.
The reason why I leave out the pine-nuts is that because of DH's mild tree-nut allergy I can't have any nuts during pregnancy. Trust me, you need the pine-nuts!! I can't wait until I can make it with them again!
Also, to save a bit of money, I use regular dried mushies from the Asian section in Coles instead of the Porcini mushrooms that are worth their weight in gold. I think they are just fine :)
So let me know how you go and if you have any questions, AJP. Enjoy x
Home made pizza AGAIN.. we had enough from last night to make it tonight as well.
Chicken potato bake
Choc Fudge cream brownie! for hubby and kid.
Then a nice cup of hot choc and watch Underbelly! oh ya and Materchef and Australia's next top model!
Last night I made the most delicious cottage pie, cooked using beef, cauliflower, mushrooms, celery, onions, mashed potato topping... My signature dish :)
Tonight we are having...
Pumpkin Soup (you girls inspired me) with fresh crusty bread
Tandoori Salmon with Parmesan & Basil Mash and Baked Asparagus
Blueberry Pie

Must be the time for Rissotto lately!
Tonight we're having chicken & pumpkin rissotto.
beef goulash in the slow cooker
Big pot of beef, vegetable and lentil soup on the boil. Served with some crispy dinner rolls :)
Lasagna tonight.
I grate carrot, cellery, mushrooms, eggplant, zuccini into the meat sauce to bulk it up and get the vegie quota happening...
Home grown eggplant, tomatoes and basil in it so I feel super satisfied :)
I make assemble it in the morning and let it sit all day and cook it later.
