    Mmmmm sticky date pudding.

We just had a red duck curry, that was pretty comforting.

    Okay...this thread is evil....

I just made golden syrup dumplings to have after our Maggie Beer roast chicken.

Had run out of golden syrup so using treacle. Also added some ground ginger to the dumplings....

I also have cream and blue ribbon vanilla ice cream....

will let you know how they turn out
    Okay...we have a winner

This thread has made me drool more then my 7month old
I love a few Maltese dishes that I have learnt from MIL but Brodel (soup) and baked rice are my fav.
But I can't go past a lamb shanks cooked nice and slowly in the oven followed by apple pie or crumble.

went searching for some soup recipes and found this thread so thought i would bump it so you can drool too. i think plan for today is to make cauliflower soup (dd will usually eat this one), and maybe a chicken noodle soup with lots of vegies and ginger and herbs (this is what i want) and if i get to it some golden syrup dumplings for dessert.

love pumpkin soup, but dd is not too keen. and we used to do an awesome green soup made from broccoli and zucchini and celery and other green vegies, but i don't know if dd would be keen.

Mmm all these winter warmers have given me a few ideas for the day! Might give some pumpkin scones a go (never tried making them before, anyone have a good recipe?) and I think I'll light the fire early and put a soup and loaf of bread on for dinner... Yum!
