Yummy recipes suitable for someone with gestational diabetes

    Hi all,

Unfortunately I have just been diagnosed with GD. I'm not seeing the dietician at the hospital til next week. In any event I doubt they will give me recipes so I was hoping that some of you out there may be able to help me out with some tasty recipes for dinners that i can use for the whole family which will not lead to high BSLs for me.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

try the diabetic living magazine at the newsagents...its out every two months and is jam packed with scrummy recipes suitable for diabetics of all types...thats probably your best bet...also might like to have a read of The New Glucose revolution" by Jennie Brand Miller which explains the principles of low GI eating and how to easily adapt your existing diet in simple easy to understand and practical terms....Good luck with it all!!

Some hospitals have a diabetic clinic attached to the hospital. Give them a ring to get the number as they are usually very helpful and can give you help and ideas.

A friend has also just been diagnosed with GD and is finding going for a walk in this weather a bit much. It is also not helping her readings.

All the best as you deal with the changes.
