When are u able to have a chat with her?
skye thinking of you..
as the girls before, abuse also entered my mind.. but it also could be somethign simple like being active etc. could she be constipated and bleed that way too?
poor darling, she must be worried too..
Oh how scary for you! I'm hoping she's all fine and that a simple explanation from her will clearit up. I'd be thinking hymen too maybe?? I doubt it would be AF without any other puberty signs. Thinking of you!
 Skye! Hope it's nothing serious and just from sport or something.
She'll be home about 4.30. Will definetely let you all know how it goes. Thanks heaps.
Just wanted to give you 's and im hoping shes ok and its all simply explained GL honey
Sending a
I hope it works out okay for you and your DD.
Exactly what i was going to say.
I was playing on our climbing frame when i was about 6-7 (i know it was before i was 8 cos we sold the house with the climbing frmae then) and i came down hard on one of the poles (not vertical!!) and there was some bleeding... Mum took me to the Dr's and it was put down to my hymen tearing.... still worring though.
Most active children tear their hymen well before reaching an age that it can be torn by sex.
Also could be thrush... scratching down there will cause a bleed as the skin is quite thin...
But second everyone else and say take her to a Dr JIC
xo
Hope everything's ok. Please keep us posted.
That's a really good point, I remember after having the girls, the lochia stopped but my pelvic muscles were in such poor shape (and I'm VERY prone to constipation) that I would bleed every time I went to the toilet, and had to keep wearing liners because there would be blood in my underwear even after wiping properly...
Big hugs to you and your little girl, hope it's nothing too serious and that it is sorted out soon :)
One thing I just want to mention also is that when I started AF, very late (I was 14 or 15, a 'late bloomer' among my friends anyway), the first couple of days of it were yucky brown stuff and I honestly didn't realise what it was, I thought it was diarrhea - it took a couple of days for it to get more red before it clicked and I asked my mum to get me some pads... maybe if it is blood, but not bright red, your DD thinks she's had a bit of an 'accident' and is hiding it from you because she thinks she might be in trouble for having a skid, kwim?
Hope everything is ok with your little girl. Keep us posted.
glamourcide - good point too. when i first got AF, the start was brownish as well
Just wanted to drop in and say ...
You are handling this marvellously!
Hows it going?
She just walked in. I was thinking the same about the diarrhea thing too.
She's been at the beach for sport of course, so wet. Not a great help!
Thinking of you sky!
Well even though she'd been swimming, there were a couple marks on her undies. Not noticable, but she had been in the beach.
She thought it was poo. I know its not far enough at the back for that. I haven't said anything about what I think it could be yet. Told her I think it could be blood, but not sure why.
Told her to put light undies on & keep an eye on it & tell me if she see's anything again.
No itchiness, boys or someone touching got a 'eww! Why would a boy touch it?' She said something about belly pain & I did keep her home Thursday coz of a belly ache, but that isn't much to go on.
Eek how difficult. Sounds like AF to me...
When I got mine at 9, I was mortified. I had a pool party that day and mum TOLD THE MOTHER. Of course, she told her daughter, etc, and by Monday, everyone in my class knew.
I suppose you will take her to the doctor? She will be fine :) Hopefully if it is AF, it won't come back again for some time!
Think a trip to the doctors might be beneficial Skye.
Can you get in any time soon?
How many days has this been happening for?
Aw sounds like it could be AF, with the belly aches and all, the poor darling! Hopefully the doctor has better news for you, and can help you figure all of this out.
Good that she's saying ew to all the nasty things though, that must be a relief :)
I'll ring the doctors first thing tomorrow.. Ours is 20 minutes away, so I can't go til I have a car. I'm heading out to get it Wednesday, but won't be back til Friday. Its my only chance to get the car, its 10 hours away. I would put it off just to take her to the gp, but I need it to get to the gp :(
This is my only chance to get it & if you knew how hard it is being where I am with no car, it'd be your first choice too... This is a bit crap...
can your friend loan you her car while she looks after the kids? this isn't something i'd be waiting on. i know how important a car can be, but your DD is important and this is one time i'd be pulling out all the stops to get her to the GP - evenif it's not your regular gp
Ok...she's crying over changing the cannel to watch her favourite TV show?
BG I know, but I can't even buy food without my car. I might be able to get in tomorrow or Wednesday. I'll see if mum will bring a car over for me to use....Can't see that happening, but I'll try... She works pretty much full time though, running her business, so can't just not be there.
I wish I'd rang the gp today, but I wanted to talk to her first. I didn't know she'd be that late home.
Just wanted to send some Big  your way Skye for you and your little girl, I hope you find a way to get to the Dr's to just get things checked out, not much advice for you that hasn't already been said :comfort:
I would offer to drive you but we aren't even in the same state :(
I texted mum. Explained it all to her earlier today & she'll try to help. So trying to get her in somewhere in the morning.
Poor darling...actually, the both of you  You're both confused and hoping it's nothing.
Even if you can't get to the GP tomorrow, I'd go with giving the GP a call to talk about it (tell the receptionist you just can't physically get there and really need to speak to the GP about a sensitive matter to do with your DD - they can usually call back during the day).
I remember when I got that brown spotting and being mortified by it, because I thought all of those things - not wiping properly, or with the belly ache, thinking I'd underrated a fart! That happened at age 12 and I didn't get a proper AF till I was 14 (much to the jealousy of the girls I went to school with!), so it felt like a big fat false start (but with much relief that it was only that).
I got pubic hair at age 9 and that was just socially hideous - up until that point I had normal friends and a normal school life and after that I moved into 'outsider' mode fairly quickly and never moved back from there (for which I am now grateful), but body hair (as with boobs, which I didnt' develop till much later) is a very visible marker of difference from the pre-pubescent peer group. If it IS AF, then at least no-one needs to know about it for a while.
If it turns out to be AF, it probably won't develop into proper flow till a lot later. When that time comes, may I suggest the Mooncup? My thinking on it (and I've only just had my first DD, so this is pure opinion!) is that dealing with AF positively could help her through the transition, rather than thinking that AF has to be dealt with by using disposable products that get very smelly and feel yuck. I know when I started using my MC my whole attitude to my period took on a different colour and because of how it works I felt liberated on many fronts - environmental conscience was lifted, no more smelly paper products and, like a tampon, I could still go swimming (but better than a tampon, I can leave it in overnight!). Just my thoughts about how I was going to approach AF with DD - as in, she's going to grow up seeing me use my Mooncup and be positive about it and it will be her normality when her time comes, too.
Whatever happens, I wish you weren't hanging onto all sorts of possibilities till you get mobile again
I can't add anything else, I think the other have said everything already. Just wanted to give you great big  and hope the next few days go ok
I had my first one just before my 8th birthday, so yes it is possible.
would a mooncup really fit a 7 year old virgin?
Yes I am all for the mooncups for teenage girls! But for a young girl I think they are far too invasive - pads are really the best choice for a pre-teen IMO...
Oh Skye. Hugs to you. She's far too young to have to deal with this. I remember when I got my period at 12 how emotional I and my mum were, I just couldn't imagine how you and your DD must be feeling. It ceratinly does sound like AF though
i think so too. mooncup too complicated for a little girl who prob doesnt understand it all..
Oh hun, big cuddles your way hunny, :hug:It must be so hard on both of you hun xxx
oh a question what is a mooncup?
Ok, if it's stopped, & I take her to the doc, how will he tell what it is?
I told her we'll try see our usual doctor coz she knows him very well. Has been seeing him since she was born. She's ok with that idea.
I'm waiting to actually say anything about AF just yet. I have also not mentioned pads yet either. There has been nothing since she got home. We'll see what happens over night. I'll still take her to see gp no matter what though.
Sorry if this has been suggested already - I've just skimmed through the posts... but did you say you got AF yourself a few days ago? Just another thought to throw into the mix:
I'm sure you know that women who live together often end up with their menstrual cycles in sync due to the influence of pheromones. In my experience, some women can have a HUGE influence on others - eg. if I spend more than a few hours with one particular friend of mine and she is pre-menstrual, it can throw my whole (usually very regular) cycle out. If it is AF, I wonder if it's just a little bleed triggered by the presence of your hormones / pheromones, rather than something established by her own maturation - just a theory??
Obviously this requires lots more investigation (than my stab-in-the-dark theories) and I really hope you get some clear and comforting answers very soon. Hugs to you.
do yoiu have any liners at home hun? maybe get her to wear a small liner so you can monitor how much she's bleeding. ask her when she notices it kwim?
if she has started with af, or the gp suspects it, they may do some hormone screening to check on what is happening. it might be good to prepare her that they may have to look downstairs as well - that could be very frightening for a seven year old
hope your mum can get a car to you
oh such a big thing for a little girl to go through. I feel for both you and DD. I don't know how you'd explain it to such a little girl. I agree with the panty liner which BG suggested. Just to measure how much.
My gf had her first AF at 7 and she developed sooooo fast. Her boobies where probably a C cup by grade 6. not saying that will happen to your DD but it can.
Poor bub. She needs so much support and so do you.
xxoo
