I used to suffer the nervous tummy ache or butterflys in the tummy. I would get myself so worked up as a child i made myself throw up. Mine was never resolved and i guess it lead to my bad anxiety.

Sounds like his experience was quite traumatic to him, perhaps set up a meeting with him, teacher and principal.
