LOL Jan at the little ones messing up the scrapping. That's why I don't pull mine out cos Jemma is 2 and 8mths and Jessica is almost 14 mths and there is nowhere safe.LOL

Gabby's scrapbook is finally filling up a bit!
I went to Mum's on Monday night so that we could have a bit of a "session" with my sisters.
They all did a double page each for Gabby. Considering we are all pretty much beginners, I think we did a good job! It's amazing how long it took us though. There's still some finishing touches to be made but I put some photos of the pages we did on Gabby's web site if you want to have a look.
I did a "Mummy" page. I really need to get Neil to take more photos of me with Gabby because I didn't have much to choose from.

Jan - all the stuff I have to look forward to! You can never have anything nice again once the kids get to "that" age, hey? Still... good on you for not letting it stop you!

Michelle - hope you and Arron haven't killed each other yet! He owes you a scrap day, I reckon!

debbie - your pages are all fantastic - i love the easter & mummy ones the best :D you have inspired me to get some more done! thanks for sharing

LOL Deb- we are both still alive. But we have another bookwork session tonight, should be loads of fun....NOT!!!! I am pretty sure we will finish it tonight though so that's a bonus. I am actually thinking that now that I have worked out a new system with our ebay stuff and things will basically relist themselves until they run out that I may just have more time to scrap and also I am considering this weekend even with the kids I may get stuff done. I think it's great you and your sisters and mum all get together and scrap, I better take a look at your pages too.

Hi Michelle - I did receive my SM one yesterday so I was pleased that it happened straight away. Lets hope it doesn't take too much longer! I did the 10 SM one.

That's great Nell, I was already rec 7 issues of CM so opted for 5 extra and 5 of the other. Fingers crossed my stuff is here tomorrow or friday cos I am home alone all weekend and am thinking I might do something!

Just wondering if anyone has done much "beyond the page" stuff? I've just finished a big canvas (37cmx75cm) for my sister for Christmas.

Oh & I got 2 pages done today - first fathers day & first taste of pumpkin!
Aaaand I've done 5 digi pages yesterday - gotta get them done for MIL's chrissy present.

I have altered a mini clipboard as a thank you for someone, a ribbon box for all my ribbons.

I have some empty old spice jars I plan on doing up for my smaller embellishments and some cd calenders for presents before too long!

Old spice jars are a great idea for beads & things, never thought of that Nell!

I haven't done anything but I was thinking about doing a 4 photo hanging photo thing, with a pic of each of the kids for my aunties nd nana for xmas but the only prob is i need a laminator! Maybe I should look into it, after all I could make Arron business cards with it, the business could pay then!

I would love to do somethig like that for my sis too as she lives interstate but I'm sure i would never find the time!

Sarah - did you do the canvas like a lo? Did you put anything over the top to protect it?

Michelle - got a letter today saying that the scrapbooking offer thing was still coming just that they had a huge response so they were put of stock quickly. Did get the diary and prit rollers.

Yup I did it like a LO Nell & at the moment there is nothing over it, I'm thinking of framing it though. I'll take a photo & post it on Zanders site when I can so you can see.

Sarah At TLC we have what we call Wall Avenues which is a page layout framed with a pedded frame and wall art and wall words are added to really highlight the whole idea and people are loving it!!! We have also been doing altered CD's, which are decorated with scraping stuff for xmas decorations, or baby sleeping signs...the ideas are endless. We also have been doing decorated notebooks and are about to do our first paper bag album....and decorated paint tins....using kits from our range and bits and pieces from Big W or wherever...just some different off the page ideas!!!

Hey nell I got the letter and my pritt rollers and diary, I was most upset, but at least we will still get the stuff, but not for what seems like an eternity! Oh please hurryup SM! LOL I was soooo looking forward to it!

Oh Tiff - that LO is just fantastic!! Well Done!!

I must tell you girls, if you are ever in Echuca or around that way there is a shop in the main street called Bargain Shop or something like that and it has heaps of fantastic cheap scrapping stuff! I bought some rub ons for $2! Some gemstones for $2 for a pkt of 36 - just a huge range and really good stuff.

Did you see that store when you were there Deb?

I am lucky as my folks live up there now so my mum can get me the stuff - yay!!

That sounds like a great shop Nell, won't catch me up there soon though as stupid SIL lives there and I don't want to run into her LOL.

Girls girls girls girls.......I held a Creative Memories class/party last night......(I had a feeling scrapbooking would be "my thing"!).......OMG, I am so addicted!

I have been looking for a "hobby" as such that gets me away from the computer and away from the kitchen, & preferably out of the house.....(Dr Phil always says Mums need to find themselves a passion!).

I have since read through all of the scrapbooking threads, and am even more inspired now! I am so glad I have been able to come in here and metaphorically "pick your brains"!

LOL LUcy, welcome to the club! It's exactly like that isn't it? If only I had more hrs in the day i might actually get something done. I have nothing to show you unfortunately, have enough trouble finding time to scrap and never thought to take pics. OH well, another thing on my list of to do's.

Ebay is a really good source of scrappin supplies, there are so many things you can do, depends what you like....I have an ebay shop if you want the web addy PM me cos I can't give it out, we sell scrapbooking stuff.

Michelle, no, I didn't think you were being pushy at all......honestly hon, I am glad you have an EBay store, as I would always always much rather buy from someone I "know", especially on Ebay. I had a good trawl through, and was SO tempted to buy up big! (My Ebay user ID is redearthsunset BTW, so you may see some orders from me in the New Year!)

Now, here are a few questions for you girls, from a novice.

1. Where is the best place/cheapest to get all your photos printed?
2. Do you print them off on a home computer printer?
3. Which do you think is the best value scrapbooking magazine?

We don't have a great printer so I don't print on that, plus I think its cheaper to use a store as you can use too much ink and you'll be going through the cartridges in no time.

Big W is great value I think although I can't remember how much they charge! Oops! 20 cents a print maybe?

Debbie Lee uses Big Photo which is an online serive for 15 cents a print.

I change my mind all the time about which mag I like the best. Scrapbooking Memories I subscribe to, I think that is quite good, although For Keeps is also good as well as Scrapbook Creations. Perhaps get some olds one off ebay or buy new ones and then decide from there? Creating Keepsakes is American with an Australian component so I don't get that one but some people like that.

........LOL, Nell, that's why I was asking! I have just placed a bid on 6 old "Scrapbook Creations" editions!

The reason I asked about photo printing is that on the plane back from the BB event I noticed that the company that advertise on the motion sickness puke bags do digital prints for 15c each, which seemed really cheap......might have to try them out.....

I am terrible, I hardly get around to printing my pics they are all blocking up my puter, no wodner it's slow. Almost 1/4 of my total memory is pics. New years resolution: to print my picsone way or another. LOL

Me too. Hence my new determination to have a clear out of photo files and get them printed and organised. I have done a mammoth job over the weekend of sorting, filing, renaming, deleting copies etc etc.......my puter works so much faster this morning.........uummmmm, wonder why that would be??!

Yes well my puter is refusing to cooperate, I brought a mem stick so I could save some onto that but it didn't work, wouldn't load the driver so I am screwed.LOL I am going to buy some CDs and some floppies, remove all the word docs I can and try to get enough memory to install a cd burner and then I'll burn them onto disc and delete them.
We are getting a new puter but will be after xmas

Michelle - I got a nice package from the mail man this morning - the scrapping stuff! All of it is there and it's great - very excited I am.

Oh Nell that has made my day although I haven't got mine yet it can't be too far off, I am at the end of the alpahbet though, maybe tomorrow, unless I have a card in the box, will check on the way to get the kids.

sarah - they are all brilliant - i can't pick a favourite - you have some amazing ideas & have done a great job! also love the photos of zander on your front page with his santa hat on :)

i was getting a bit overwhelmed with all the pages i wanted to do for eliana so spent time on the weekend doing my baby photos (the original album was falling apart) mum had way back in those days done i guess her version of scrapbooking so i just transferred some of the pages she had done & will add an updated twist to them - when i have finished i will post the pages (luckily they didnt take as many photos back then)

I've been getting stuck into scrapbooking in the last few months and I must say I'm addicted :lol: I love it. I was actually torn between scrapping and getting online tonight. Mostly I don't get on line lol

I'll stop in from time to time to get tips, happy scrapping all and merry Christmas!
