Scrapbooking!! Just about finished DS first year. OMG, it isnt a hobby for the perfectionists! The amount of pages that i have re done!!! And finding the time! It actually stresses me out!LOL because I cant stand to see ANYTHING unfinished!!!
I do like doing it though, and gee theres some real tallented ladies out there.
Its near the werribee train station, the carpark behind behind Dimmys.
I haven't actually been there, but my aunty told me last Sunday that its closing down and theres a big sale.
She also thought scrapbook angels (not sure if thats the right spelling) was closing too, but apparently its staying open.
pmsl Ally you poor thing must take you ages......I will leave a page for another time if I get bored or don't like how it is going.
ATM I have some xmas [pages to do but have no xmas paper so that is a spanner in the works lol, and have no time to get some either lol Also running out of album pages.
Anyone see that kmart is having 20% of scrapping stuff in the next catalogue?? Might be worth a look.

Thanks Rachael - whenever I had popped in there, it wasn't that busy and TBH I could never find what I wanted... Scrapping Angels is going great guns from what I hear - I actually heard they were moving to bigger premises.
Oh that's good. yeah someone told me they were closing too, which I thought was a bit strange, but if they're moving then that makes sense!

It was his 1st birthday yesterday, and I have JUST finished.......all I need to add is one more final "Birthday Party" page, but his little party is not till Sunday.......so I can't scrap an event that hasn't even happened yet!!
(I had to get my arse in gear on this one.......only a few months before B3 will need to have her album started, OMG, what have I let myself in for?!)
Here is my trick for when you feel overwhelemed with too many photos and too little time........
Whilst DH is bathing both of them at 7pm, I grab my pile of prints and pick 5 snaps, then grab my scrap box and slap it on the table, glaring at me. Then when I have finished settling Olivia and Charlie for the night, by about 8pm, I can just sit right down and get on with it..........one page every other night or so.........(DH gets the ****s a bit because I ignore him, but when he sees the end result he forgives me!)
see thats the problem Lucy, DH's say you are neglecting them, even when I used to do it in the lounge lol. But sounds like you have the system going on, thats great.
Tanya, have you tried looking at scrap shops online?? You might find a gorgeous one wihtout even having to leave home :)

I too am a scrapbook addict. I started off with Creative Memories (didn't everyone) almost 4 years ago. I don't want to here about anyone up to date with their albums, as I will be very jealous. My DS is 2yrs 9mnths and I am only up to 20mnths with his album, my own album is only up to my DS's birth and my new arrival Phoebe's album, I am still doing the week she was born. I must admit I am a little over the top, I include so much in them as one day when my children are old enough they will be a gift to them. At this stage my son has an album for every year of his life (and they are full from cover to cover) at this rate he will have 21 albums as a gift for his 21st birthday LOL. I take so many pics that when it comes time to order them online I can't decided and just about order every single one.
Looking forward to getting to know my fellow BB scrapbookers.

I got mine from Myer. It's pink and has 3 windows on the front with black and white photos of baby hands, feet and something else. It's really cute. Sarah has the same one but in blue for Zander. I can't count how many times people have asked if the pictures on the front are pictures of Gabby, LOL. Maybe I should lie and say they are?? Naaah....
We have sold the house so I can have my scrapping stuff out now! I got it out when I woke up this morning and have already done a double-page spread for Paige's album. I am determined to get a heap done. I want to finish Gabby's "1st Year". I still have to do her Christmas pages and a couple of earlier pages (photos from when she was 2 months old). Then I can get cracking on her first birthday - I've decided that I'll need to devote a whole album to it. If I don't fill it, I'll just put her 2nd birthday in there too.
I've also decided that I'll do just the first year and birthdays that are totally devoted to Gabby (and any other consequent children). I might do a school one for when they start but, otherwise, I'll just do whole family ones. That way I'm not biting off more than I can chew, LOL. As it is I have grand plans of doing an album of Neil and I BC - before children.
Deb, sounds like you have huge plans for your album, good luck in keeping up :) I am soooooo behind in mine. I can't ever see me catching up as such. Theres no reason why those pics on the front of the album can't be Gab, Just take some and replace, or do what I did for my gf (her bub has passed so no new pics) anyway she wanted to do a layout of her hands and feet so I went through the pics that she did have scanned them in and zoomed and cropped out her little bits like hands, feet, ears, eyes and mouth.
I have a very similar album for myself, it has 1 window on the front with a picture of a flower. Tehya's ablum cost me a fortune ($70)but it is gorgeous.

I am useless, just like Trish I don't ever think I will catch up. I started when the 3rd was born and then had the 4th and I am a psycho photo taker so I take pics all the time lol Way too many photos but I love them so much. Oh well I will just keep pluggng along. if only the house would clean itself I may have a chance of getting up to date lol

My Mum still hasn't completed my youngest sister's photo album. I've got a big, fat album and, as you go through the sister's, each album gets skinnier and skinnier, LOL.

What about keeping the first one as is and just starting off the next one with Lucas's first year? It sounds fine just the way you've done it.
I'm a lapsed scrapbooker (a bit like being a lapsed Anglican which I am also). I just bought some materials yesterday to start the album for my beloved Pusster but I haven't finished my wedding album yet. Well, we have only been married for six years ... come on!

well done Tanya, great work. If you feel it is unfnished I too would suggest a page which has a special message or poem, with a simgle pic, you know like the ones in the mags....(I always love those!!!) Would round it off nicely.

I went to the Melb quilt and craft fair. It was good, I am amazed at how clever some people are. Not many scrapbboking stalls but so may other things. I am going to biuy one of those hot wands to put jewels onto things, will be great for my embroidery projects, and also mum was looking att he new xyron cutter, $349 with 2 sets of designs, dsign sets were $60ea works well and she will be buying it later. Get a look at it if you can. We looked at 3 diff ones, the Xyron, Printblocks Criucut which is $550 with 1 set of designs, design sets are $160 ea, prints on a bigger sheet of paper but maybe more wastage there. And also the Robo cutter which is $890 and works from a computer porgram (there are more options for this one but very expensivefor what it is).

yeah Tanya I think we all feel like we need more time, but I think somewhere along the lie our families will be so rapt with what we have done. And it is very hard once the kids are here to find the time. My 4 are always into something lol and makes it very hard to get stuff done
Well i have all these plans(i draw layouts and then do them) and photos, but no money do buy the stuff i need! lol. I can't do any scrapbooking for at least another 5 weeks, coz we need all the savings for our wedding. Really hope i can get some done of Bub before he is born so i can just stick the photos in. Lily's first album is full, which is from birth until her first birthday. Next one of hers i am just doing random stuff. Have some of the ideas and photos, just need to actually have time to do them. The great thing about my local scrapbook shop is that they have a class you can go to and it lasts from 6pm til 11pm, so 5 hours. Only costs $5 too. Might take that opportunity before bub arrives!
Wow Tegn 5 hrs for $5 is good. It can be an expensive hobby can't it. I hope you get down there before the wedding , boy time is flying, not long now. You ae getting married on Jessica's bday so i will be thinking of you

sounds fun Rachel!! I would be interested depending on if arron hasn't got plans. Prob a sunday would be better for me than Saturday, but don't arrange it around just what I say!! I actually am an independent consultant for a scrapbooking company and could bring my scrapbooking stuff I sell along if you wanted, to show and if anyone was interested I could take orders for stuff. But I don't want to be pushy about that, I wouldn't bring any of it if you didn't want that. PM me if you want more info about it cos I don't want to do the wrong thing re advertising it IYKWIM.
So I am interested, thats if you want me there!!!

I'm gonna try, Michelle. I just have to wait and see what is happening because Neil wants me to spend a weekend with him in Hamilton... and with all the moving etc. it may be a little difficult. Still... it will be nice to have a scrapping arvo. A Sunday is handy too :) I'll definitely be leaving Gab with Daddy tho ;)

Doing my son's for the moment.
i got a lot of creative memories tools plus stuff from local craft shop.
Geez i didnt realise how addictive it becomes!
ive left it all out o the dining table though, the only way i will keep doing it. so bit messy but lots of fun!

I know just after i posted i read something was on the 20th. Only yesterday I made plans to catch up with some girlfriends for lunch on the 20th.. bummer..... cause i was actually looking for somewhere/someone i could go to a scrapbooking day because i don't know anyone else doing it at the moment.

not many of my friends scrap either, I think people think it is an old persons thing lol
we haven't been meeting regularly for scrapping, Rachels was the first. Would be good to do it once a month or so. Of course it is getting to the busy end of the year so likely to have heaps of people busy. I actually fired up last week and scarpped 17 pages. I was very proud of myself. Only about a zillion pics to go pmsl.
I became so addicted to scrapbooking that I became a scrapbooking consultant! I hold scrapbooking classes and sell scrapbooking supplies. I just LOVE it. If I could do it full time I'd be thrilled but I just started so I don't have a lot of clients yet.
I'm addicted to all crafting. i make jewellery, I sew, at Christmas I make Christmas decorations (even sold them at a craft fair before) and at Halloween I make Halloween decorations.
My scrapbooking stuff is packed away :( :(
I'm hoping to get stuck into it big time once we've settled tho.
Nic - would be a good idea for you all to get together on a regular basis. Set up a scrappin' club around Melbourne, hehehe.

i'm thinking about scrapbookingmy parents wedding photo album! (since i am not yet married myself)
i have a few ideas in mind of what i want, but i'm scared i wont do the photos any justice! i want to sit down with them and get some thoughts and feelings and memories to add lots of journalling.
has anyone else scrapped a wedding album? if so i'd love to hear from you! and see some pages! i havent seen any magazines do wedding pages, so im not really sure where to start!
