I'm having a few people over for Christmas breakfast this year (10 adults, 2 toddlers) and have started wondering what we will eat?
It needs to be a light brekky as we will all be going to our aunts afterwards for a hot lunch ( 3 course meal, yummo!).
I will be having a fresh fruit platter and mum is bringing home made mince pies.
Any other ideas? Also I don't want to be spending heaps of time in the kitchen so needs to be easy too!
From my Marie Claire brunch book I got from a lovely BB member last year for SS!
A herb omelette, pikelets, fruit smoothies, salmon, dill and camembert frittata, nut and seed muesli, mixed berry couscous, cappucino and white choc muffins! If you want any reciepes let me know!!!!
Mmm, we're doing the same thing this year. I think light stuff is good too.
My family can be fussy. Dad will want cereal, I reckon the others will eat croissants, maybe we'll have some fresh fruit and yoghurt, maybe muffins.
Smoothies, fresh juice, and good coffee sound good too!
We're a bit different though, in that we're a bit rushed, cos we all head off to church afterwards, before going our separate ways for lunch! So we have to keep it simple.
We do the "breakfast thing" every year with the in-laws.
We take turns at whose house it is and it's always a barbie. Bacon, ham, eggs, toast, prawns, cereal (for those who want it). Being a barbie, means the men (or older boys) usually cook. Makes it pretty easy, weather permitting we usually eat outside, and everyone pitches in and helps clean up before splitting up for the day.
