Waffles are good we normally do waffles but our waffle maker is dead.
Today I made Nigellas Sweetcorn Pudding... its kinda like a corn souffle/scrambled egg dish... its absolutely delish and goes fantastic with Ham off the bone... Perfect for chrismtas morning coz you mix all the ingredients together whack it in a greased dish and then in the oven for an hour. Perfect to cook whilst opening presents. Then serve with either Ham off the bone, or smoked salmon and creme fraiche... mmmm
Chocolate croissants:
Get some plain croissants and put some pieces of your fave chocolate (I like to use truffle mud nestle) in the middle wrap in foil and put in 180 oven for 15-20 mins...

Make sure you work some fresh berries & cherries into your menu too - maybe serve your waffles with them?

We are having blueberry pancakes with strawberries, ice cream and maple syrup
- YUM. We will also have champagne ****tails and good espresso coffee.
Last year I made bacon and egg things that I saw on Queer Eye... place bacon into muffin pans, crack an egg and cook in the oven, serve with baby spinach and cherry tomatoes very nice and easy.
Its very yummyNigella's Corn Pudding - From "How to Eat"
5 eggs
18 ounces (about 2 1/4 cups) canned sweet corn, drained
14 ounces (about 1 3/4 cups) canned creamed corn
1 1/3 cups whole milk
1 1/3 cups heavy cream
Generous 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F and butter an ovenproof dish – and I use my old, scuffed Pyrex one, which measures 12 x 10 inches.
Whisk the eggs in a large bowl, and then add, beating unenergetically, all the other ingredients. Pour into the buttered dish and cook for about an hour, by which time it should have set within and puffed up slightly on top. Serves 8.
I'm going to be keeping the ingredients in my cupboard at all times from now on

Heavy cream? Is that like double thick cream or am I on the wrong track?
Nah I just used pouring cream. In fact I used tinned cream coz I didn't have any fresh and it still tasted fantastic (I have tinned cream as backup in the cupboard).
And kids LOVE it

OMG I didn't even know there was such a thing as tinned cream LOL!
I always have ham off the bone and eggs - like bacon and eggs,. YUMMO. Isn't christmas if i haven't started the day off with this. The chocolate croissants sounds good though.
Do you mean fat reduced cream, Cai?
It is fat reduced but you can't tell, it looks and tastes the same. But not to be confused with evaporated milk LOL!

where you can buy puddings and stuff, you can now get long life cream... always good to have around the house!! My mouth is watering at the thought of those choc croissants. Maybe ham and cheese ones too?? One think i love is bagels, philly cream cheese and salmon... is nice with capers too![]()
we do either bacon and eggs, omlette's, scrambled eggs on crusty bread OR fruit salad.

I didn't know you can get tinned cream either, I'll be sure to keep a look out cos you always need it at the oddest times.....

We are going to have a fresh fruit platter this year, with watermelon fromt he garden that DH has been proudly growing. We will also get the expresso machine out and have nice cofee to go with it.
