Christmas ham ... glazed .. YUM

OK, So I'm about to go order my ham, but I always get confused, what size ham do I buy?

If I were to say 4 adults and 1 toddler ...

I'd go the less is more rule.

Esp becuase it's summer and it needs to go in a ham bag in the fridge.

While there is a huge bone in the middle (yum for soup), I always find that xmas hams have huge amounts of meat.

Are you having just ham, or turkey too?

Well it's just ham for us, breakfasts and informal suppers etc.

In that case, I reckon a 2kg to 3kg ham would be more than enough...considering bone is hollow and doesn't weigh a huge amount.

When my grandpa was alive he'd buy my Mum a 4 or 5kg ham every year...and with 5 to 7 people at xmas dinner, bone used for soup and leftover meat for sandwiches, hash/patties and etc, it still lasted at least a week and a half in the fridge, often longer.
