When would you do this?

I made a fruit cake a few weeks ago and I maaaay have decorated it today I'm talking almond layer and white icing etc (DH is a pom and wants traditional British cake)

I'm so impatient and it is a torrential downpour outside so I was trying to entertain DD.

Am I insane and is it waaay too early???. I do intend to start eating it soon ie 1st of December
