    Question Gingerbread recipe ingredient substitute

    I want to make gingerbread men with DD but I am 1 ingredient short & don't want to go to the supermarket for 1 thing.

    I am out of ground cloves (recipe calls for 1/4 teaspoon) would you substitute with allspice or nutmeg? I have whole cloves but I don't have a mortar

    my recipe has ginger and mixed spice, do you have mixed spice?
    or make a mixture of nutmeg and cinnamon

    Nope no mixed spice just Allspice. I'll do the cinnamon & nutmeg mix. Thanks!
