Do you swaddle if you co-sleep?

DD is beside our bed in a hammock, but I think she's definitely the kind of baby who would love to co-sleep (unlike DS who wouldn't have a bar of it!) and I'd like to do it too.
We currently swaddle her before putting her in the hammock, and I'm wondering if I should continue to swaddle her if she is going to sleep beside me. It seems like it might be slightly dangerous, as it sort of makes her into a rounder shape which would make it easier for her to roll onto her face. We've got a pillow-top mattress, so I want her sleeping on her back for safety.

What do you do? Do you swaddle when you co-sleep?

I'm not a big swaddler to begin with but I haven't swaddled when co-sleeping I like bub to be dressed the same as me so we can regulate temps together and you will probably find the comfort of being near you will be better than the comfort of the wrap. Be interested to hear what others say though

Hmmm, not sure about it from a rolling perspective, but when I was co-sleeping with Alister I found he got really hot if he had too much on him combined with being under the blankets with me so I stopped wrapping him while we co slept. But he was a lot older too.

The recommendation is not to swaddle when co sleeping. I assume so bub can wake you if they're in distress.

Also, swaddling is really to comfort them, and I think if they're in the bed with you, who needs a swaddle when mum's loving arms are right there???

Excellent. Thanks girls. I'll try it tonight without the swaddle.
