mine are shocking im very embarrassed by them and cover my legs by wearing things past my knee ,, even though u still can see them fourther down but at least i just cover them a little make them seem not as bad ...
i am told to get support stockings but there very expensive at the chemist $120 or more , because they have to be fitted . so i havent .
i really hope they calm down after bub they are popping out and the spider veins are getting bigger and spreading ..
if you are getting them what are you doing to help with these ..
thanks all

I'm getting them too, but luckily above the knees, and I never showed above the knees anyway so I'm pretty lucky. I haven't got the support stockings either as I hate tight things on my legs, but I am making a huge effort to put my legs and feet up every time I sit down. Sitting in the bath with my feet up also works really well.
I have read about some natural remedies for them but I haven't tried them yet, haven't had the time. Now that I am on maternity leave I might investigate them a bit. But there is some info here on BB, somewhere...
I hear you on this!! Go to Coles supermarket and buy Sheer Support stockings. You can get them in full length or knee length. They are about $8 a pair. I use them and they have helped SO MUCH!!!!
Good luck.
Me too! Mine are horrendous and have really knocked my self esteem, I have the legs of an 80 year old - my worst spider veins are in my left ankle so there's not much I can do to hide them. I got them last prg, they settled down after DS was born (particularly the variocse veins) but with this prg they are back worse than ever.
I have worn support stockings both times and to be honest, they don't help in preventing them from getting worse, but they do help with the discomfort.
Just be wary of the 'natural' remedies too, particularly herbs etc. My dr told me to steer clear of them while prg as the majority haven't been tested during prg.
Willow- i really understand how it can affect our self esteem cause its happened to me .. doesnt help when my brother constantly says something to me when he sees me and my mum ... gees as if i dont already know about them.
nurse dan- thanks for that im going out to get myself a pair..
and with regards to the herbal remedies im a bit weirey of them .. especially while pg .. but nice to know afterwards i might look into it.
tahnks all
