    Question The may budget

    hi i am wondering if families are getting any money out of the may budget i can find anything about it i am just wondering

    Nope, nada. Far as I can tell, not technically losing any either, but nothing extra.

    If the budget gets passed in the form in which it was announced (without any tweaking or negotiations with the opposition etc) then familes who earn under $42,750 (I think this was the amount) will lose some of their family assistance each week. If you earn over $112,000 you also loose some of your family assistance. Those inbetween don't seem to loose any for some reason. The way FTB B is calculated will also change I think.

    Family tax B is going to be cut out for any working families from what i understand as we now get paternity leave payment instead of teh baby bonus. non working families get baby bonus and FTB.

    basically we all have to work longer and pay more tax and get nothing in return.
    but wont happen till 2011 or something
