Hi. Can anyone tell what Sheppartion is like?

Big enough to do some sort of decent shopping spread out enough to take half an hour to get from one side of the town to the other and small enough for everyone to know your business

What do you need to know exactly.

I dont live there anymore but I live close by.

Thanks Salad, just wondering if its a good area to live, is it a good area to bring up kids, and what the schools are like, what the people are like and what the weather is like? Thanks again.

The weather: It can get really cold in winter - frosty mornings, and really hot in summer we got up to 47 - 48 degrees summer just gone and most days during summer average 38-40 degrees, other times of the year the weather is very nice it can be windy from about september to october.
I cant tell you much about schools as my little one is too young judging by friends opinions they are ok - there are plenty to choose from - as for raising kids there my husband and I were both raised in the area and it was fine for us but I think everywhere you have the same issues if you know what I mean.
You have a mix of people but that is the same everywhere too.
Have you been there before maybe go stay for a weekend and see what you think.
There are lots of little towns nearby which are great too - might want to check those out.

Thanks Salad. Wow the weather doesn't sound the best. We haven't been there yet. We are just looking at places in nsw, vic and qld, googleing, checking rent prices and schools ect, then we will make a list of places that sound okay and go check them out. Thanks for the info.

used to live in Shep and now live in Tatura - about 15 mins away. I love Tatura and I go to Shepp a couple of times a week - I have lived here all my life so I like it!

You get good areas and bad areas... Let us know where you are looking at renting exactly and we may be able to let you know what the area is like.

The schools are all good... I am loving where I am sending DD#2 atm.

Thanks Salad, Kafer_girl and Tanya. We are pretty much looking into two places shepparton and Hervey Bay in Qld. I think we will visit both places and places around them, see if we like them, hopefully we do, otherwise its back to looking. Thanks again.
