need suggestions for child minding in melbourne

Does anybody have any experience with or recomendations for child care services in Melbourne city?

We are coming to Melbourne next month to see a football game (Carlton v Essendon) and will be in Melbourne for three days, we are going out to tea on Saturday night to Jamie Olivers place, 15 and I was planning to take Angus (who will be close to 8mths by that stage) along.
My family have been pressuring me to leave him at home totally so I can have a break in Melbourne (Hah! shows what they know, how can I leave a little man who is still trying desperatley to cling to being just a booby boy (very stubborn about the introduction of solids) and have a stress free time??????? I don't think so)
So as a compromise I was thinking of hiring a professional child minding service (nervously) to stay with him in the hotel apartment just while we go out to tea.

please let me know the good and the bad as I am trying desperatley to make an arrangement that I feel totally comfortable with
    appreciate any input

    HI Blizz

Night Nannies (just google their business name dot com) are excellent, I have used them about five times and have had very professional, caring and great girls each time.

Good luck, it is hard leaving them with 'strangers' I know, I stressed about it for weeks and still do.

    Thanks

I should add that we are staying in a huge three bedroom apartment (spoiling ourselves) so at leat the sitter can watch TV once Gus is asleep

    Hi Blizz,
How did you go? I am interested as may need to look at getting my DD looked after as I am going back to work, and as I work shift work, some nights don't get home until 1130pm. ..Long after all childcare centres close!

How was your night out? Stress free I hope!

    Thankyou!

There are some really good agencies in Melbourne, at reasonable prices. It also sort of depends where you are. I can't PM you yet with some details, but if you leave some kind of contact, I can let you know.

Sorry I haven't been on BB much of late, Had a wonderful time in Melbourne thanks for everybody's help, we were lucky enough to have a family member move to Melbourne in time to use and abuse her LOL!, so I'm sorry I did't make it as far as the agencies, so I don't have any advice, the only ones who responded to my email enquiries were dial an angel.
