Okay im getting ready to pack away breast pump, bottles, teats, nipple shields etc and was wondering if there is a certain way they need to be stored so they can be used for next bub?
I kept the packaging and stored most things after sterilising them back in the box. Making sure they were completely dry of course... other things that didn't have the boxes for I stored an a tupperware box.
TBH, I didn't worry about it too much (obviously I washed them and try to keep them as clean as possible in a tupperware container) because I figure I'll be washing them and sterilising them really, really thoroughly if and when they're used again.
Thanks - i will wash them, dry them and store them in a pastic box that i will go out and buy (since i threw the boxes out) the only thing is my breast pump has a bit of a smell to it - is that normal - hasnt been used for ages - can i still keep it or should i throw it? is there something i can do to get rid of smell - ive tried soaking it in warm soapy water - will any of the other stuff get a smell to it over time? or will i be right to store it and forget about it until next bub comes along?
I boiled all of my stuff and let it all air dry and put it in the carry bag it came with. I just went and sniffed it and there is no smell now but I will be boiling all the stuff again before I use it just to be sure.
cool thanks everyone! good to know that i can store this stuff and dont have to buy it all again when the next one comes along! whenever that may be!!!
