can I ask where did you get yours from?
For those who have been thinking about amber teething necklaces and wondering whether they actually work or not... Mine arrived here yesterday and I can assure you that they most definitely DO work!
I decided to order a mother and baby set as it appeared to me that if it worked like they said, it could be really, really helpful for my arthritis.
I've been gradually getting worse and worse all week as the rain was coming. Particular finger joints in my right hand have been shockingly painful and I've started to struggle to use the mouse and keyboard. We've now had two solid days of rain and normally I'd be struggling to walk if I wasn't tossing back nurofen plus or panadiene constantly through the day.
I put mine on early yesterday afternoon when I collected the mail. By the time I went to bed I had much better use of my right hand. When I woke up this morning I was stiff and had sore knees. The stiffness is normal, the knees were nothing like as bad as I expected. Today I've been able to walk and care for Sam with no issues and no pain killers and I've even felt confident enough with my grip to load up the dishwasher and run it... And all this without taking any extra painkillers at all. Not even a panadol.
I don't know if it's doing much for Sam - it's a bit hard to tell with the bronchiolitis and all, but I know that it's doing a lot for me. Just thought I'd let people know - hearing what it has done for an adult is sometimes a bit more convincing than just seeing the difference it can make in a child.

I got mine from amber bebe as they did mother and baby sets. Something I couldn't find on most other sites I looked at.

just a quick q - does anyone know if the colour of the amber makes a difference in its effectiveness? I like the look of the paler ones more, but obviously Id get the darker ones if they worked better!!![]()
actually the pale ones are reported to be the more effective ones....I think they call it the milk and honey colour
apparently the paler ones are better than the darker ones.
I've been eying them off for myself for a while, Elise has one and it's really helped her teething!
This just might be the excuse I need to get one!!
Thanks BW!!
I gotta praise them to BW
I got myself one 3 months ago because i was suffering migraines everytime I oed and when AF was here....well im happy to say that i havent taken it off and have only had ONE headache..not migraine in 3 months
Mateauz wears his all the time, he now has 4 molars that i didnt hear bop out of him about....Vy's is broken so I have to buy her a new one...but I found it helped wiht her sleeping.
Yes...the lighter the better and they have more minerals in them for the skin to absorbe
i bought mine of ebay for $26 including postage and it was here from the US 3 days laterthe kid's ones were $12 including postage and came with magnetic safety clasp.
Linda who is a MPM here is making amber necklaces also![]()
Hi BW, I ordered a mother daughter set for me and Belle (I have arthritis too) and I've found it's really helped me, but to be honest I don't know whether it helped Belle at all. She has 2 teeth now and while I had the necklace on her for ages before her teeth came through, I'd actually forgotten to put it back on her for a few weeks before her teeth appeared and her mood didn't appear any different at all.
I might put it back on her just incase she gets any more - can't hurt!
I can't find where I read it now, but apparently pale amber works better, and the cloudier the amber is, the better. I think the darker (brown) ones look nicer, so I made a kind of compromise on the colour and got the palest brown I could find.
To be honest - I'm completely and utterly amazed at the difference it has made - I honestly didn't think it would work, but Sam was (and still is) having such a rough time with teething that I was willing to try anything... and I figure I may as well try it on me as well as him while I'm at it.
I certainly have him sleeping much easier, despite being so sick and having breathing difficulties... and he didn't wake us up coughing at all last night. It could just be the process of getting better, or it could be that the amber is helping.
I didn't realise Linda was making them now... I think we were just so desperate I had to go where ever I could find them ASAP. Now I've just got to get organised to send BG's to her.

I really want to get a amber necklace for ds but dh wont let me coz he says its too girly. grrrr.
Isabel, I thought DH would be the same. So I just ordered them without telling him. I then put them on both of us while he was at work... when he got home I showed him mine and told him how much it had helped me... "and by the way, Sam has a matching one on, too"... And he didn't even blink!
I think it helped that I was able to tell him there was a very real benefit... and it's mostly tucked underneath his clothes and unseen anyway!
BW
I tried to explain to him the benefits but he wasn't interested. Not scientific enough for him.Think i will get one anyway and just put it under his clothes. he isn't the one who has to deal with him being upset because of his teeth....
hmmm Mateauz wears his none stop and im seriously thinking about getting one for Wilhelm to see if it helps on his bad Autistic days.
ive just cut and copied this from the ecobabe site
Wearing Baltic Amber necklaces is an ancient European remedy for teething. Baltic Amber necklaces are known to have natural analgesic, anti-inflammitory & general calming properties. Baltic Amber is scientifically proven to have a positive influence on the human body.
Baltic amber is the fossilized resin of ancient trees, which grew in the Baltic region in Europe, 40 to 60million years ago. The positive influences of a Baltic Amber teething necklace come from wearing it close to your skin, where your body’s warmth releases the Baltic Amber’s ancient natural oils. Your body then absorbs this oil, rich in therapeutic succinic acid.
As Baltic Amber is a fossil resin, not a stone, it is lightweight, warm and comfortable to wear for children. In Rudolf Steiner philosophy, amber is said to help strengthen the life force of a child.
BW - WOOT! Sooo glad you've found them as good as we have!
I ended up getting DS the darker colour but since most of his teeth are through, I didn't think it'd matter too much. It certainly helped him when he broke his leg though, no doubt about it. For the next bub, I'd probably get the honey colour.
I ordered one from tiggerlinda and havent told DH yet will just put it on DS when it arrives and see how long it takes him to notice!!!
Does it have to be made of Baltic Amber? I've been looking around in bead shops for Baltic Amber to make my own but it's almost impossible to find. Would other forms of Amber be ok? Should I get a rough natural cut or could I get the beads that are fashioned into round beads?
Apparently it's only baltic amber works. I can't remember all the details, but there's a component that's unique to baltic amber which makes it work like this. Other types of amber do not work.
From memory - it needs to be baltic amber, the paler and cloudier the better, and the less processed the amber is, the better. If my memory serves correctly. Google will help more, but I have a wriggly baby on one knee right now!
