    Cleaning the Dishwasher????

Ok, I usually just buy the Finish Dishwasher Cleaner to clean the dishwasher when my dishes are starting to be left a bit grimy, it works wonders but is really expensive. It's about $7 a bottle but I need two as I have a double drawer dishwasher.

I was wondering any of the domestic goddesses in here know if there is anything else I can use...and how to use it? I was thinking along the lines of bicarb, vinegar etc...

    Thanks in advance

This is how I do it:

Run an empty dishwasher, when its filled with water carefully take a peak (it should be filled with water down the bottom) add 2-3 cups of vinegar and close the door to continue. If you find there is still build up you may need to do it again, if that doesn't work then I would suggest removing the arms and filters and giving them a good scrub and try again. Also you can use vinegar as rinse aid
