Just curious as to any rides that pregnant people can go on or do they all have signs saying no pregnant women?
Been to Movie World & Seaworld recently but not Dreamworld for 8 or so years so was thinking we would go there. I love the Mine Ride and Rapid rides and coasters. Its obvious I cant go on the Mine/coaster rides, but what about the rapids or logride > ? What other rides might be safe ? There is a ride that goes up in a mountain, what's that?
I do recall Dreamworld to be very thrill ride orientated. Do they have other things to do aswell? Shows / 3d cinema / ?
My sister went to Dremworld while she was pregnant and only went on the kiddy rides. There are signs at every ride with warnings and the restrictions listed, pregnancy is listed on many of them as a reason not to go on particular rides. I reckon the rapid ride would be ok while you're pregnant, there isn't much to it. The mine cart ride isnt there anymore - or at least it wasn't when we were there in March.
There are heaps of other things to do at Dreamworld, there's the wild life sanctury, tigers, Koalas, Imax cinema, Model T Fords and the train which goes around the park.
I'm not a big ride fan and I found there was loads for my youngest DD nd I to do while we were waiting for DH and kids on the rides.
We went to Movieworld in March when I was 4 or 5 mths, (we had tickets that had to be used )and I couldn't do ANYTHING...
Dreamworld I think though would be better, as Tinkerbell says there is heaps to do aside from the rides, its been a while I can't remember a lot, but I'm sure there is more you could do.
At Movieworld I only got to watch the stunt car show & the Shrek3D show (& I had to sit in the non-moving seats!) - I couldn't go on the log ride, which I love.. I think its pretty similar to Dreamworld's...I would imagine the restrictions are the same too?...
I have been to dreamworld twice while pg. There are plenty of things to do - although what really depends on how far along you are. Obviously things like the wipeout are a no go, but there are still things like the water rapids etc which are fine. Go with your comfort level. I tended to avoid things that required a bar across my stomache area. The second time I went while pg I wasn't very far along and probably could have gone on everything, but I had young toddlers - so only done the 'family' things anyway. Still had a great time.
Ok I went to all the theme parks when 34wks and it sucked :-) Dreamworld was probably the better - seaworld was good too - lots of shows. At Dreamworld I could go on the log ride and the river rapids, the Big red car ride (yep that was excting :-) the olden day cars and the steamboat ride. Can't remember if it was dreamworld or movie world that had the shrek 3D show??? they have a row at the back for pregnant ladies where the seats don't move.
Thanks ladies, I'll only be about 13-14 weeks so it's not so much the tummy/comfort but more the safety. I looked at Dreamworld's web site and it had a picture of the rapids with a big black seat belt across the stomach.??? The log ride at Movie World is quite full on and a huge drop, I would think the Dreamworld one is more tame. I would like to be guided by their recommended riders signs but I imagine most if not all will have no pregnant women just to protect themselves.
