    Cloth Nappies and Newborn Clothes

    Hi everyone,

I have finally bought a few clothes for this baby and it got me wondering, should I buy 000 clothes instead of newborn (0000) clothes for over the top of cloth nappies? I haven't cloth nappied a newborn before, didn't start cloth with DD until she was a bit older, so I'm a bit clueless with newborn cloth LOL If its any help too, I'll be mostly using Itti Bitti nappies.

    TIA

Ittis are trim so I would think that 0000's would be fine.

FWIW - I had DD in 0000's for a few weeks (she was nearly 9 pound born) and cloth fit fine underneath it.

I had DS in 0000's for about 4 weeks with cloth nappies. As Arimeh said, IB's were fine as they are trim. He was 7lb9oz when he was born and 10lb (4.5kg) by the time they were getting too small.
Even now I am finding some 000's getting a bit snug on him when he has the bulkier nappies on and he's 8 weeks old.

Thanks Megan and Mel I ended up getting one 0000 outfit and a couple of 000 outfits. I went through DD's old stuff and had quite a few 0000's packed away, some really nice stuff, she was only little and wore them for a while and I had forgotten what I had its so long ago now. And I've got heaps of 000 stuff that was DD's too. But I have to keep reminding myself that this one may not be as little as DD was for as long LOL and don't want to only dress the new bub in hand me downs! Might have to pick up some more 000 stuff down the track I think
