    hereditary Allergic reations???

I was wondering if it is hereditary to be allergic to bee sting and other things.

So DH is allergic EXTREMELY BAD to bee stings so does that mean our kids are too??

Dh is allergic to Prawns and avocado too making him real ill and shakes.

so will the kids get this too should i avoid these things???

how about you have you got that common link with your kids?

Both me and my dad had an intolerance to cow's milk as children: so does DS.

DH is allergic to nuts so that means that me and SiL can't have them while pg or bfing, nor can our children have them until they're older.

DH and my sister are allergic to penicillin so I asked for another antibiotic while bfing.

I just think it's wise to be careful - if someone's allergic then don't serve that food to anyone in the family until you know they're not allergic (allergy test would be better than giving them a bit of the food if it's a strong allergy).

There is a genetic link with allergies. You would need to consult an allergist though to know what the particular risk is within your family.

You can't say they will have the allergies, but you also can't say they won't. I have a serious allergy to rockmelon, which appears to be genetic, but it's only me and my grandmother that have had it so far. You should exercise extreme caution with your children around those thingsm or consult the allergist as MR suggested.
