"I am only just okay now (5:30pm) after very groggy day. We had a little boy! 3.2kgs! A little darling. He will be in care nursery cos of breathing probs."
Still waiting to hear on a name, but he was born this morning by c/s.
Congratulations Sharon and Paul on the birth of your gorgeous little man!
Just a quick update, unfortunately bubs is having some problems...
I had a call from Sharon.
Baby started having more breathing difficulties this afternoon and is now on his way to Nepean Hospital, Penrith, the only hospital at the moment that has a bed available for him. Fortunately they also have a bed for Sharon and she is being transferred there by ambulance now. Her DH has gone with the baby and her sister is going as well, so it sounds like she has plenty of support, but is obviously distraught nonetheless. They haven't been able to hold him yet and are waiting to have a cuddle before deciding on a name (I can tell you there is a shortlist of two and both are lovely).
Please keep Sharon and her bub in your thoughts and prayers [-o< . She has come off morphine this morning and is starting to feel a little better physically, but isn't really able to walk around much or anything. Baby's lungs had some fluid in them and they think the problem may have been caused because they had to cut through the placenta to get him out and he has possibly inhaled some blood.
The good news is her c/s went as well as it could have and she will make a full recovery.
I just had a quick chat with Sharon's DH and the news is good!
Firstly - the baby's name is Angus James !
They also got to hold him last night for the first time and today he's down from receiving 60% oxygen to just receiving normal air, even though he's still getting some help. Her DH said they'd be up at Nepean hospital for a couple more days, but things are looking much better for both Mum and bub. Sharon was having what is no doubt a much-needed nap and I will try to speak to her again tomorrow and see how she's doing in herself.
But a huge well done to little Angus, getting himself on the road to recovery! =D>
