    Still bleeding.....

ok...almost to the hour i gave birth 2 weeks ago today.....im still bleeding, not loads, not a pad an hour or anything...but enough to wear a pad. With the girls i stopped 7-10 days after birth. Today is 14 days. Should i be concerned ???? Sometimes its red, sometimes its brown....
My placenta came away jagged - i.e it wasnt a clean break away from my body. It had jaggered edges they explained, so slight chance there could be some placenta remains...but ive had no pains, no discomfort...just this godamn bleeding. Im breastfeeding too....

    Should i be concerend ??????

i bled for 6 weeks after Mia. I think the only reason it stopped was coz i went on the pill. I think u dont have to be worried about retained placenta unless ur passing clots or its really heavy (someone correct me if im wrong). SO its normal darl and can last for many weeks yet. SOrry.

7 weeks here. I was told it was fairly normal. Like Mumma Mia it only stopped when I went on the pill.

You're probably right to wait until your 6 week check before getting too worried - unless there's obvious signs of infection (clots, pain, odour, etc).

this might sound odd, but it could also be because of his size. In my experience of larger babies, they usually have a larger placenta to nourish them - Alister's was the size of a dinner plate and the bleeding I had after him was quite substancial. So my theory is, the bigger the placenta, the bigger the area is in your uterus that needs to heal. Also there is a chance that your placenta did not come away intact if the edges were ragged, so you could expect to pass a few clots as your uterus gets smaller and starts to expel them. You should be fine so long as you dont' have any undue pain, fever, nausea or odour. but if at any stage you get worried and feel it isn't *normal* for you, then see your Dr
