    Discharge (sorry if its TMI)

    hello ladies.
I was wondering if its normal to have discharge?
I have had it for the past 4 weeks or so, im nearly 20 weeks now.
I get it in my knickers every day, and especially after i go to the toilet to urinate. Once i leave the bathroom after doing my business, i feel a big gush (a bit like the period blood feeling) but when i look its a clearish white discharge.
I wipe it away and there is always a fair bit (maybe a table spoon or so)

Is it normal to have this discharge at my point in pregnncy, why am i hving a discharge?
My mum said she doesnt remeber having it when she was pregnant with her kids, but i was just wondering if anyone else may have it and whether or not its normal??

thanks for your time and answers

Hi, from what i remember i had alot of discharge early also. SOme people do and others dont so you are perfetly normal. I would get big gushes sometimes (when i was a bit further along though) and i would worry it was amniotic fluid (which it wasnt) - but yes - there was heaps. Panty liners didnt cut it for me, i needed to use slim pads and change them quite frequently.

I have had this also, I just wear panty liners so i always feel fresh. I was told that it is normal. I did on one occasion loose some ammniotic fluid though but all was good.

ohok...i might give liners a shot. its not all the time, sometimes its only once a day, sometimes maybe once every two days.
It was just worrying me a little as to why i ad it.
My mum said if its a greenish yellow colour it could be an infection such as thrush etc, however it is definately clearish white. so i think it should be ok, i hope

VERY normal honey! Get used to it and buy yourself a nice stash of panty liners. Always keep some in your handbag too.

If you get itchy or the discharge smells, get yourself to the doctor as it could be thrush.

Enjoy yet another wonder of pregnany - LOL!

I get this too and have pretty much had it right from the start, I hear it gets worse the further along you get! I just wear panty liners every day. What you've described sounds completely normal, so as long as there is nothing offensive to the discharge (eg odour, colour) I wouldn't stress, just stock up on panty liners!

if its thrush there is no alarm to bother the GP or OB. You can try herbal methods or natural methods.. personally i used a pessary (sp?) that i bought from the pharmacy (you cant take the oral thrush pill during pregnancy). However white discharge with no itch or smell is perfectly normal.

i think i better go out and get me some panty liners lol.
yeah some days i have it heavy, other days, very little or none.

as long as its all normal, i should be right, i might just mention it to my midwife at my next appoinment to make sure all is ok

I had the same thing... started using panty liners awhile ago because I was over feeling like I needed to change my knickers all the time, lol. Trust me, you'll know if it's thrush... MOST unpleasant!!!

yeh ive had thrush before, and i tell ya what... I hope not to have it during pregnancy....ouuuuch.

I have had a little itch here and there, maybe once every three days, but im pretty sure its just due to the discharge, as its not an excessive burning itch like thrush was.
