    Question about fit of MCNs

Ok, I'm a newbie. Trying out lots of different MCNs at the moment to see which ones fit DD best.

With the BumG pocket I find the snaps on the front that are used to snap it down for smaller bubs dig into my DDs thighs. Why is this? Can I fix it or is this one just no good for her?

I also have an itti bitti d'lish which I love coz it's just so cute and I want to buy more but I'm trying to work out if that's practical or not. At the moment it fits really good on DD but it's pretty narrow in the crotch and I'm worried it won't last long at all (I have the medium and she's only 7kg). How are they on bigger bubs??

Thought I'd try a peapod to give it the benefit of the doubt but won't be getting any more, today we had a poo leak through the PUL!!!! wtf!!

Ittis can go a fair way - I think their trimness is deceiving. DS can fit into the mediums and he's nearly 2.5 years old. A lot of it has to do with the body shape though - he's long and lean, so generally I can get a lot longer out of my mediums than someone else can who has a chubba bubba. Narrowness in the crotch is good for some babies though - my kids really suit them. They get severe camel's toe from wide crotch nappies (although this doesn't effect their absorbency or anything, and they don't appear to be annoying them, so it doesn't stop me from using them!)

About the snaps digging in - thats a chubba bubba issue I think - one of the other girls had that issue too. I don't cos I wish mine were chubba bubbas!!!

Yeah, she's got some serious chub on those thighs, lol. I was thinking it was a bit wide in the crotch making it fold in a bit near the legs sort of so the snaps are like on the side of it digging into her leg rather than on the front if that makes any sense. And now I'm worried about the IB being too narrow, pmsl, can't win!
It's probably not too narrow though bc today she was wearing it and had a poo explosion. She was sitting up and it somehow exploded out of the top of the nappy at the front!! There was just too much, lol. But there were no leaks around the legs at all which I would have expected so it must be fine.

where abts r u? maybe there'll b some nice clothies who'd be happy to show u their stash so u can see what fits & what dont?

crotch is itti is 11cm, BG is 15cm...swaddlebee (sized) is 13cm, maybe give that a try? besides side-snappers allow u to adjust waist & thigh separately.

ur bub is 7kg already?! my 8mth old has only just hit 8kg!!

SJ - you could always come up here for a visit and check out my stash. I have a few different brands I have 2 swaddlebees too - one is a medium, so you are more than welcome to see if that fits well. Its a side snapper so its awesome here. no wing droop!

It was me that had that problem with OSFM. DD has chubby thighs. I have learnt that I just have to buy sized ones for her. The velcro OSFM didn't suit either.
As for the Ittis - we live in them! (Well, she does, I prefer knickers) DD is 12kg, still chubby in the thighs and can still wear her medium, though she is mostly in large because that's what I bought at the time when she was in the overlapping-sizes stage.
I never bought any Swaddlebees, but they are first on my list to try when #2 comes along -especially if he/she is similar shape to DD.

Thanks Crystal! I was worried that when she got a bit bigger the IB's would be giving her a wedgie, lol. Sized do seem to fit her a lot better than OSFM.

OMG I think I'm getting addicted for sure, last night I dreamt about nappies

Ahhh when the dreaming starts - you know its all over red rover

My kids suit sized ones better too - but can wear OSFM most of the time too - luckily!!!
