    omg, what have i done?!

Orson has quite bad cradle cap on top of his head. I have started to get rid of it slowly but today it started pulling his hair away and how he has a bold patch Is this a normal thing to happen or should i take him to the doctor?

I was told never to pick it! You should use the cradle cap treatments after a bath, and it begins to come away by itself after a few days.

The product i have says to "comb through very gently once over the area after 5 days of using the treatment" it should then come away naturally.

oops i pick at tays lol
she still gets every now and then at almost 2 only in one spot. but i think thats because she doent like me brushing her hair.

the bald patch should be ok, new hair will grow eventually.
tay got this at the back of her head at 3 months now cant even tell where it was.

baby oil and a gentle combs helps aswell but picking was always the easiest way for me lol

DD2 had horrible cradle cap all over her head and some of her hair did fall out with it too.
I got some Moogoo Scalp cream and put it on her head morning and night, I lathered it on really well and left it.
Well after 4 days it was all gone, I mean completely, the only thing I did to help it was rub gently in the bath with a soft washer once it had a soak and was nice and soft.
    Great stuff Moogoo!!

i found the treatments and oils etc never worked for us. i used to use the comb side of an eyebrow comb/brush to get it off. i dont think that the hair coming out is a problem, it will grow back. as long as there isnt any grazes or inflamation in the area it should be fine.

Olive oil is the best to use.....Zacherys hair comes out too

ETA: Moogoo doesnt work here, not cheap either....Chelsea used the whole tub of it on her hair the other night like it was shampoo!

you should be able to google Moogoo - it will take you to their site - on there, you can have a look and see if there is a local stockist, or you can order online. the MSM cream is really good with MCN's too so might be something else to look at...

i found delivery cheap cos they have a flat rate postage (if memory serves) and i started using the shampoo and conditioner and body wash myself - love them all!

hope you can get something to help Orson's cradle cap soon

google moogoo and you should get their page...you can order it online or they have heaps of chemists stockists listed on there too.

Using straight oil on it should be fine though, just massage the scalp. The cradle cap will come away by itself, but it isnt a problem of itself, so dont stress about trying to get rid of it.

My DS had heaps of hair and cradle cap - it would come away by itself and the hair would come out too. I used oils and other things on his scalp to try and get rid of it and it came back within a couple of days. In the end, I gave up and his cradle cap cleared up by itself eventually. As I said though, he had lots of hair so it was very easy to hide his cradle cap, though people did notice when they were holding him. I don't think it hurts them, it just doesn't look overly attractive.

Don't worry about the bald patch, it will grow back.

We used olive oil & whenever we combed through to remove the cradle cap hair would come out too. Sounds like it's normal.
