How Long Should I Wait before trying to conceive again
How long should I wait before trying to conceive after my m/c? My doc told me 1 or 2 cycles. So I want to wait only one. To be completely honest I want to start nowwwww!!!He really did not give me any reasoning behind it? I will ask again, but I want to know from all of you! How long do you think I should wait? My m/c was on 6/6/09(my husband's birthday) and tmrw will be 6/15/09( my birthday) . And like CatKat said....I want to try and conceive yesterday!!
Have any of you gotten pregnant right after your m/c and carried full term? What did your docs tell you? Anyone tried and wish they would have waited a little bit longer after the m/c to conceive....maybe bc you m/c again and the doc said you got preg to soon or bc you were not mentally ready? Please let me know!
Thank you for your time bc it is truly appreciatied.
some positive news.
i had a mc last cycle so now 4 months ago, i fell pregnant next cycle and i am not 13 weeks along and all going very well.
i was told to wait 3 months mainly for hormone levels and stuff to return but becuas ei lost my other baby at 7 weeks i didnt really have many hormones left.
i did have 3 m/c within 6 months all early so before 7 weeks. and the one when hubby and me just relaxed and said nope not trying just have fun we fell lol funny how that works
some women dont ovulate straight after a m/c so so some docotors say this to avoid added dissapointment if you dont fall straight away.
I am in the same boat, I didn't even want to wait for 1 cycle. We tried anyway and although I haven't got af yet since my d&c I don't think I will get a bfp.
My doc said the only reason they tell you to wait is so that you mentally ready for it, and it also makes it easier to date the pregnancy (based on your last af). On the contrary I have also been told that you should wait so that the lining of your uterus can build itself/repair itself so the next pregnancy will be a sticky one.
Alwayblessed - my doctor told me to wait one cycle because she said if there is anything left in the uterus that shouldn't be, even a tiny remnant, it could cause a miscarriage of a healthy fetus if you fell pregnant again straight away. She said it's best to wait until after the first period. She reinforced this to me and said she has seen it happen a number of times where people get pregnant again straight away and then suffer a second loss. Obviously this won't be the case for everyone but maybe it's best to just give it one cycle before you try again.
