    Question Cross-eyed?

My 5 week old goes cross-eyed a fair bit. Is this normal? It happens mostly when she is staring at something very close to her. When she is looking at me she is usually ok, if my head is about a foot away or more.

She could be trying to focus, they don't have very focused vision at that age. Or wind, they can go crosseyed if they have wind for some reason.

ask your mchn when you go next, it can be normal this early though.

We learnt last night in our classes that 80% of babies are born cross eyed.
The eyes take a little time to straighten due to the muscles
Just ask your doctor for their opinion

We had the same thing, and i was worried. My dr said it can be normal for newborns, but if I'm still worried at 4-6 months to let him know... it fixed itself and i hadn't even thought of it until I saw the title of this post Hope its nothing but I'd mention it next time if its still worrying you, just so they can note it down.

millie was the same!! we were told as long as it corrects itself by 12 weeks then its not a problem, otherwise she may have had to have a patch over one eyes, its due to weak muscles!
shes fine now at 16 weeks
