    Urgent question!

I applied for my dream job last week, and received an email Friday morning saying 'we are impressed with the level of candidates who have applied and will be in touch if necessary....'

A couple of my friends have suggested ringing the HR Manager today to try and get ahead of the other applicants, as well as mention that DH also works for the same company - what do you think?

I mean, I desperately want this job - its perfect, it's what I want to be doing, and being with DH would be VERY handy given that I hafta drive him there anyway. So I want to do as much as possible to make sure I at LEAST get interviewed. But I also don't want to make an annoyance of myself, and get my resume 'blacklisted', KWIM?

    Suggestions please!

I would not under any circumstances mention that your DH works for the same company while a selection process is still underway, it does not tend to go in your favour, plus they probably know already.

Not sure about ringing to ask, you could. What sort of a feel did you get after your interview?

I haven't had an interview yet - I have previously applied for other positions with this company, because of DH, but have never been asked for an interview. This time I really NEED an interview!!

    I would ring.

My boss gave a girl a job because she was the only one to ring up and ask if her resume was good/sufficient.

She wasn't the most qualified AT ALL for the position - but he liked the fact that she obviously wanted to work with us bad enough to give us a call - when none of the others did, they waited for a phone call from us (which never came).

I'd do it. You have NOTHING to lose - and everything to gain.
