Im not one to complain.. ok you caught me of course i am :P hehe
but seriously tonight at work my lower back was hurting SOO bad it seriously felt like i had a vice on my hips, i could barely walk, the poor girl at work had to do so much more work to cover my being so slack, but i just COULDN move any faster.
anyone have any suggestions about what i could do? not working is out of the question, and yes, im on my feet the whole shift, which is a max of 5 hours now ( i spoke to my boss) and whenever i need to i can sit down for a minute (providing its not super busy and they need me)
GUH, i feel like such a sook :P
Thanks ladies
I wish I had started it earlier...find one who does pg acupuncture, they don't all do it but I had my first session on Friday and it was brilliant. My only complaint was that I should have had him do my hips too... I walked out feeling like my back & hips belonged to 2 different bodies!
I hate to tell you this hun but it gets soooo much worse. Lol.
I was complaining about my sore back around the same time as you, now, i wish i could go back to that!!
And complain away, your pregnant, such is your right!
And if anyone tells you to stop, just say, "do YOU have a human being growing inside you? Taking most of the vitamins and nutrients out of the copious amounts of food YOU eat? Having well placed kicks right into YOUR spine at 4am (and many times during the day)? Having to carry around an extra ten kilo's at least, which is all out the front and pretty much equates to the pain of having Pammy Andersons boobs plus Carmen Electras PLUS your own sitting right there and pulling your spine into what honestly feels like a silly straw???? No?? Then bug**r off!" Hahaha

I have had the wooooorst back pain to. Ive always had a semi bad back, and the extra weight is not helping.
My DP tells me im a winger, and i get angry/upset. But i think hes right when he says itll only get worse lol
I had to leave work, and am currently on 'unable to work payment' through centrelink .
Not much, 420 a fortnight, but it helps with the bills.
I have been to the doc, in search for any remedies that could help, and he suggests panadol...I get so angry when people tell me that...like i havent already tried panadol lol
But panadol just dont do enough, and even laying down kills. He suggested a heat pack, so im off to find somone who sells them. chemist maybe?
I have an old back injury which has flared up with my pregnancy. I've been experiencing problems on and off since about 16 weeks. Mine nearly always flares up on the weekends so I've worked out that the extra time on my feet and doing house work is the culprit.
To help with my back pain I've done the following:
- got my DH to do A LOT more around the house. He's always helped out but now he has to do the vacumming, mopping, clean the shower, etc. I'm careful to watch how I bend when I'm doing housework and hanging out washing now too.
- I have been to the physio several times which helped relieve the severe pain and they have given me some exercises to help strenghten my glutes - the area tha suffers the most when my back packs it in
- I use a heat pack while watching TV and take one to bed as well
- a good soak in a warm bath really helps to relieve the tension
- I have a belly belt now too - my physio got it for me - and I wear it on weekends for extra support when I'm doing housework
Back pain in pregnancy is terrible. Try to take it easy and be very mindful of your posture and how you bend to pick things up. Simple things like doing the dusting plays havoc on my back.
i have 4 discs out of place and scoliosis and my back pain has started already this [regnancy i get about 2 weeks of no pain from a good session of osteo and you can do it up untill teh day you have bub
my other issue is from old dislocated hip which means one leg is about 1 cm longer not much but enough to notice when pregnant
