    Please help - bleeding.

My name is Danielle, i am new this forum.

My partner and i recently found out i am pregnant after first time trying. I have been to doctors, had my pregnancy tests done on weekend. This morning i had some brownish discharge coming out which i knew was quite normal. However through out the day i have had cramping like period pain. I went to the toilet recently and realised how much i was bleeding (like a normal heavy period, not as bright red but dark red/brownish colour. I am really worried now and not sure how to go about this. I am waiting till the morning the ring up to get a doctors appointment to find out if everything is okay.

Has anyone had bleeding like this and still been pregnant?

    Welcome to BB Summer...

I am sorry this is happening. It doesn't sound good darling if you are cramping and bleeding - but there are lots of lovely stories like yours that have turned out well. The only way to know will be to get another blood test done to measure if your HCG is rising or falling. If it is doubling every 48 hours (approx) that is a very good sign.
I hope my love that this is a sticky little bubby for you...

If you are only about 5 weeks pregnant not a lot can be done honey except a blood test. I truly understand how scary this is. If you are 6.5 weeks or more an internal u/s will be able to check for a heartbeat and fetal pole. Most hospitals will ask that you rest and if the bleeding becomes very heavy or painful to present to an ED. Do you have a large hospital close by? If you have a hospital that is large they will have a pathology and an u/s though most will not do an u/s in very early pregnancy.

I wish I could do or say more - I have been where you are a number of times and it is awful.

We are here for you if you have any more questions.

I do not know how far along i am as have not had my first scan to tell yet. I believe i am around 5-6 weeks but unsure also. My doctor sent me to get pregnancy bloods done, then was refering me to hospital to have first scan.

We are calling hospital now to see what we can do.

Thank you all very much for your advice and support.

    Regards

Thank you all for your well wishes.

My fiance and i went to the hospital last night. They took a urine sample and blood test. Urine test said i was not pregnant, blood test said i was pregnant. They are unsure if fetus is alive or will live since i have had bleeding and am only a few weeks pregnant, but they said it could be possible.

From here on they said to go get more blood tests at the end of the week. If the tests show the hcg levels are rising, everything is fine and fetus will be okay most likely. If hcg levels are decreased then i most likely miscarriaged.

My partner and i are okay, disappointed of course but also wondering if we still have a baby or not? The bleeding to me was like me having a normal period. The hospital did not check the bleeding out, so i am unsure if the bleeding may have been OK and not that bad and normal, or if it was really bad and DEFINATELY a miscarriage?

summer, this would have to be the worst.

I understand what you are going through, it's very difficult and there are just way too many ifs, buts and maybes.

I hope everything is OK, but this does sound familiar to me.

    Thank you all once again.

We have a doctor appointment friday to see wether we are still pregnant, or if we definately did miscarriage. I guess all i can do is cross my fingers and hope for a miracle. Though the doctor did say it was unlikely the fetus would live, it certainly is possible.

I've had 3 early losses & 2 of them were only 3 days of light bleeding (actually less than a normal period for me) & no pain to speak of, just a little back pain with one of them. I guess what I'm saying is you can't judge if you've miscarried by the amount you have bled or by lack of pain. Best of luck with the next BT.

I hope everything turns out ok I was told they couldnt see anything, I had bled heaps and that i had miscarried. They did a follow up scan for "remaining product" and Ryan was there heart beat and all. It does happen and I hope it does for you. If not just remember there was probably something wrong and it is for the best and best of luck for next time.

I really do hope though all is well and healthy. Good luck, let us know how you go
