    Wii Active

I've tried doing a search but can't find anything.

Just wanted to see if anyone out there has the new Wii game "Active"?

We bought it yesterday and I used it for the first time this morning. My legs ache, my arms ache and I'm dreading doing it again tomorrow lol Nah not really, I'm looking forward to it because it's great!

I only set it to MODERATE! hahahaha

So does anyone else have it?

I was sceptical, thinking it would be like wii fit (already own that one) but it's actually a LOT different.

    ooo i dont have it but sounds like i need it;

i have wii fit and the only thing i feel like does anything for me is the super advanced step class to warm up and the super advanced boxing gets up a little sweat but nothing serious.

How much was it? (If you dont mind me asking?)

I felt the same. The wii fit was fun, but didn't get my heart pumping IYKWIM.

I bought the Active at EB Games for $74. They price match, their original price was $99.95 but they matched JB Hi-FI for me who had it on special.

I've only done the first day so I haven't seen all that it does yet.
But today I did squats (man do my legs burn now!), lunges, rolling biceps, running, in-line skating (which is basically squats, but holding for a long long time), boxing which includes punches, kicking and kneeing and a few others that I can't remember.

I don't think it weighs you, at least it hasn't me. So I still use the wii fit to weigh. It does ask for your weight though, and at the moment I've started a "30 day challenge" with it. So maybe after the 30 days it will ask me for my weight again?

I have Wii Fit too. Wii active sounds interesting. Do you use the fit board?

I wish they would bring out something like Wii step class because it is the only excercise I really enjoy on Wii Fit.

Sorry to hijack this thread but I was just wondering if any of you can recommend fitness and fun games for the wii? I love the wii fir for the balance games but not really into the other things you can do on it. I wish there was a game that was fun to play and also good exercise. Is the wii active a work out or a more of a game with the workout in it?

Iv been looking at the wii active but after getting the wii fit i was a bit dubious as to how good it be. Is it more for toning or can you get a good cardio work out too?

Well so far it isn't fun at all. It has been total workout.

I didn't want something fun I needed something to kick my ass.

It is compatible with the balace board but you don't NEED it.

I am on my blackberry at the momen but when I get home I will tell you all more.

We have Fit and Active! I love fit but am too bumpy for Active right now. Soon though. The kids *love* it. If I had just one complaint about active - it doesn't have enough user accounts. I got it as a present for DH which I got from Big W ($68! I went to EB and saw it was 99.95 and they would "price match" - but I figured if I had to walk to Big W for the catalogue to prove it, then why bother walking back for the price match) but the kids have filled up the user spots - so he doesnt have a personalised account! I have to break someones heart, but it would be nicer if they just gave enough slots in the first place. 5 and 1 guest.

Isabel - It has a whole section dedicated to Cardio.

It is all work out. Its not made to be fun - its made to make you "active". If it helps - it is simply FAR too intense for me in my present pregnant condition.

I started a post about this a while back but got no replies. I have it and love it. I also have the wii fit but like most others only ever did the step and boxing and found I didnt really turn it on.
I am now half way through a 30 day challenge on the active and I find this keeps me honest. It also gives you rest days which is good. I already feel heaps better doing it and the squats are a killer and thats on easy. Cheeky monkey I dont consider myself unfit but geez easy level is where I am staying for now. If I dont feel that I have done enough on this level I have made myself a custom boxing workout and I do that aswell.

Well now I don't feel so bad for being so sore and exhausted after the moderate setting!

Can someone tell me what happens further through the 30 days? Does the workout change?

DF laughed at me today when I told him how sore I was after doing moderate. He did easy last night so I told him he has to do hard tonight. He accepted my challenge ROFL

I agree with the user profiles too, there aren't enough. I've got about 8 people registered to my wii fit and I can still do more.

So far it's just me and DF on the Active, but various family members like to use it when they visit.

Cheeky Monkey after I finished my workout today it said Congratulations and said that now I was half way through my 30 day challenge, some new exercises will be added. One of them did not look fun, you go into the squat position then you have to balance on your toes while still squatting if that makes sense. Not looking forward to that one.

How long does each work out session take?

it depends what setting you are on - I am on the easy level at the moment so my workouts take between 15 -18 minutes which work fine for me - I would say on the next level it would be longer. If I feel like more of a workout I will do a custom workout
