My cat is 8yrs old and toilet trained, but through the day he goes outside .. He has started to wee down in the garden down the side of our house.. Today when I opened the laundry door the smell was SO strong.. We have to go outside that laundry door to get to our clothesline and also our bedroom windows are on that side, so I am afraid it will come through the house.. Any tips on what to do to stop him peeing there and also if I can get rid of the smell?? Please help!
Also we have only been here 6months and there are a lot of cats around here so it probably isn't just him.. I really don't want to have to keep him in all the time otherwise he will be desperate to get out and bolt out whenever someone comes in or out..
Just adding he is desexed..

Vinegar works a treat on alkaline smells because it is acid and also cats don't like the smell much and won't mistake it for pee. A giant bottle of no label stuff is less than $2 so for that price you can really splosh it around.
My cats seem to think under my house and my pram ect are toilets.. So to get rid of the smell I put down some Spree laundry powder. I did wet it. I just let the urine soak it up. hnestly my cats haven't peed under the house now in prob 4 months..
oh my god, bloody cat wee, we have 4, yes 4, of the buggers, and they are all tt, but i think my old girl is getting a bit sick or lazy or something, because she thinks it;s a bit of a free for all to pee wherever she wants. on clothes and stuff that can go in the washing machine, i just add cheapo vinegar to the cycle and it gets the smell out, and solid things get the vinegar and water treatment.
we have just found our cat lastnight wee'd on an antique childs chair..i have put bicarb on it to try and soak it up a bit do you think vinigar will be ok to use on the chair??
There is a product you can buy from vets and pet stores called "Urine off", it is not cheap though, but apparently works wonders. I haven't used it yet, but I know on carpet and things like that Bio Zet is FANTASTIC for getting stains and smells out of the floors and carpet
We have 3 cats and lately one of them (no-ones owning up!!) thinks around the stove top is a good place to wee!! Can anyone suggest what I put down to deter this? Maybe a citronella candle near by?? (I saw someone suggested they dont like that in any earlier post ..)
I have used 'Urine Off' and it's amazing - No more smell whatsoever and cats do not come back to that spot - It was the only thing that worked for me! You can buy it on Ebay too Good luck!
