    Question microwave cooking dishes

we bought a new inverter microwave today due to the old one dying last night.
after reading the instructions, it had me thinking..
what do you use in your microwave -plastic cooking dishes or glass such as pyrex?
ive only ever had cheapo plastic steamers etc... but are they safe???
i want to be able to cook cakes etc.. should i buy glass?
im not keen on the silicone due to harmfull things in them (so ive heard)

    anyone help??

I use pyrex stuff to cook things in the microwave.... I have a plastic steamer, but often times I use the bamboo steamers I have on the stove top.

I hate using cheap plastic in the microwave - it leaches chemicals into your food...same as BPA bottles etc..

We use ceramic or glass...just have to stir regularly as ceramic heats unevenly in the microwave.

Check out greenpack - great site, do recyclable, BPA free and renewable containers and plastics etc. But their Sugarcan Fibre range is microwave (and freezer) safe - great for lunches at work and things
