    centrelink and tax time

this is my first yr doing tax that i have to worry about the tax stuff to worry about the centrelink side of it.

Do we get sent a letter saying how much we have been paid in the financial yr, if so how long does it take because this is the only thing i am waiting on.

Does the 1000 and 900 we got as a bonus count as part of our centrelink total?

And same with the 50% we get back for child care?

with centrelink they will send you a letter saying how much taxable income you got from them That is the total for your tax return I believe...

Centrelink sends a group certificate. You can call them for the info contained on it. I do that every year so I can lodge quickly.

The stimulus payments are non taxable and not considered income.

hi there, you'll get your payment summary in the post within a few weeks, but you can call them and get a verbal amount from them if you wish to lodge earlier.. i think, from memory, you can do e-tax without it as ATO has a link with centrelink, so all of the info should populate automatically..

If you are only getting family tax benefit payments, they don't count as income and you don't need to put them on your tax return. Same for the child care rebate also.

you will only get a payment summary for taxable payments (not ftb or child care as bon mentioned - or things like carer allowance if you're eligible)

DON"T tie up the phones waiting to get verbal confirmation - your payment summary will be issued by July 20 at the latest, and, if you have taxable income from centrelink, it's electronically sent to the ATO and can be accessed usually within a week

just a question might sound silly. DH & I applied for PPP & newstart on 15th june. We didnt recieve any back pay till July. When i do the pre-fill of e-tax it doesn't say that the info is unavailable it just says theres no info (or something like that)
So im just wondering if we qualified for benefits in june and yet got paid it in july does it go on tax im doing now or at the end of this tax year?
    thanks in advance!
