    chinese menthol oil

not sure if this is the right spot to post this but ...

i have a chinese menthol oil that i love to use when i have insomnia or a headache ...

    these are the ingredients:

Menthol Crystals, Camphor, Eucalyptus Oil Essential Oil, Methyl Salicylate.

I have read that camphor is not good to use during pregnancy but if i'm just rubbing a small amount onto my forehead would it be that bad for the bean??

I know camphor is usually avoided in pregnancy, and I have read that eucalyptus oil should be avoided except for small amounts that might be in food. But I'm not an expert.

I really would check with someone knowledgeable about aromatherapy/chinese medicine (make sure they have experience/expertise in chinese medicine in pregnancy - you need to make sure they know about variations in pregnancy).

I personally would steer clear of it (and i used plenty of natural therapies & oils thru both of my PGs) just because I'm familiar with this oil and it's a very concentrated dose.

I guess you could try putting a few drops in water in an oil burner and let the frangrance diffuse slowly into your space...? Alternatively you could consider using something like Vicks baby balm which has a gentler formulation of aromatics without the camphor.
