We went skiing at Big White in Canada and stayed on the mountain - it was lovely if skiing is your thing and the timing suits(I was sick a bit but turned out I was pregnant so that explained that).

We also thought about the self sail yachts in the Whitsundays and that was actually going to be it until I suddenly mentioned skiing to my husband to be

We went to Phuket and Bangkok. Phuket was lovely but very tourist, they even have an Aussie pub there.

Very relaxing and we got a pool side room too where u step out of your balcony and it was the pool.

Bangkok was more for shopping after relaxing but didnt really like it as it was too busy.

Reason was because it was relatively cheap and also because we heard lovely things about Phuket.

It was DH's job to organise....
Las Vegas - San Fransisco - Munich - England - tour of France, Holland, Germany, Italy and Belgium - Hong Kong

Absolutely fantastic. Was cheaper to buy round the worl tickets than to go on our first choice which was a train ride across Canada...

FIJI We stayed at the Radisson Resort, Denarau Island and pretty much just lived it up, we left straight from our Wedding Night Suite and after the months of hype of the wedding we just wanted to wind down - Our idea of a Honeymoon was lots of pampering, relaxation massages, lazing by the pool in the sunshine with delicious food and rich ****tails - Aaaaaah BLISS!! We had a category 3 cyclone on our 2nd day there and missed out on about 4 days of Sunshine but that didn't spoil our honeymoon, we loved it

Only thing that didn't go to plan was DH leaving our Brand New Video Camera on our table in the coffee shop we had breakfast in the morning we were flying back to Oz - Didn't realise until we were at the airport, even after a rushed trip back to the coffee shop and many phone calls and emails to Fiji once we got home, we never saw it again and sadly lost all our Honeymoon Video Footage, still a bit sore about that - Needless to say, it was a bit of a cold flight back to Brisbane... Great story to laugh about with the Grandkids one day though!!

Was also my Dh's job to organise the honeymoon, and like Kim, we also had round the world tickets.

We went to Las Vegas, New York, Paris and Phuket.

My fave place was definitely New York, I just loved it, so much to see and do, and its just buzzing all the time. Oh what i wouldnt do for a new york hot dog right now....

It was our 3rd time in Phuket, so obviously we love it there too. The beaches are amazing, the locals are ever so friendly, cheap yummy food everywhere, and of course, the shopping...so much fun!

We chose our first 3 destinations cos we have always wanted to visit them, and knew that it would be our last chance to get there for a while before having a family.

WA We had the BEST time, more than three years on we still reminisce and talk about our honeymoon alot, it was so wonderful. Part of that was being on such a high after getting married, but WA did treat us very well. We had two nights in Perth, another two in Bunker Bay (Margaret River Region), two more in Albany (wasn't too sure about that initially, but ended up having a great time!) and then a week back in Perth. The weather was divine and there is alot to do over there, if you want stuff to do. We took it pretty easy, but still managed to get around a bit. Our holidays tend to be pretty, um, food-focused LOL, and we had SUCH good food (and drink ) over there. That was probably the highlight for us

Good luck choosing where to go, and have a good time when you get there!!!

ETA Just realised I don't know where you live, if you live in WA you're probably not interested in my post LOL!

Great Ocean Road - I'd never travelled along it, and dh organised it, so fun. Was really good to have the first few nights planned, and then kind of just stay where we wanted. Because it was in the same country, it was really nice and relaxing, and we could just focus on each other and not worry about being at a certain place at a certain time.
Everyone's different, but I reckon overseas would have stressed us out.

We were a student and apprentice at the time, so a costly honeymoon would have been out anyway.

We eloped to Broome last August. Best. Honeymoon. Ever.

Total honeymoon and wedding (including travel from Melbourne and accommodation) was less than $6000. Weather was stunning. Totally relaxing, totally beautiful, totally secluded. The accommodation was a B&B self-contained luxury 'tent' just outside Broome, at Coconut Well. Sooooo fantastic. It might be less than twelve months ago, but we still talk about it, and everyone who hears about it is impressed and totally jealous.

Btw, I didn't leave it up to DH to plan. He had wanted to go to Cape Trib in Qld, which was our second choice after Broome.

We went to Venice! I know that sounds exotic and expensive, but we got married in Belgium (DH's home country), and we got flights for 1 euro to Venice, so that was the clincher for us! It was low season, middle of winter, and it was perfect. We stayed in a dodgy hotel on the canal, but loved every minute of it. I found out when we got home that we were 8 weeks pregnant, and I'm glad I didn't know that at the time cause I ate so much bad food and drank soooo much wine. Ooops. It was a great honeymoon.

Persephone, we really wanted to go to Broome, but we got married at the start of April, and everyone said that it wasn't a good time to go, we should wait until May. I didn't want to push the wedding back, was trying to avoid cold weather, so we decided to leave the wedding date as it was and go to southern WA instead. Don't regret it one little bit, but I have said to DH that we're going to have our 10th anniversary a bit late, and go to Broome

We went to Noosaville and it was so perfect!
I gave DH the job of planning the honeymoon as his wedding present to me. I had no idea about any of it until we arrived, it was a total surprise.
We got married in January so it was hot. He just asked me very simply what I want to do most on our honeymoon and I said that I wanted to relax somewhere with a nice pool...well, the resort was perfect! And we did a bit of sight seeing as well, went to Australia Zoo and enjoyed the lovely eateries.

We didnt have a honeymoon been married 9 years now....young, new parents, we couldn't afford to, nor for DH to have time off work. We are talking about doing a trip overseas in the next few years, so maybe that will be our honeymoon (with children along for the ride)
