Exclamation Vomiting up blood - 32 wks

    Hi all,

This is a little gross, so sorry... but I'm 32 wks pregnant and sometimes get waves of nausea and feel the sudden urge to vomit (maybe once a week or fortnight I actually do), and this morning I woke up feeling sick, made it to the toilet and threw up... not very much vomit at all but a fair amount of very red blood came up. I feel fine now and I haven't been ill recently or anything so just wondering if it's anything I should be concerned about or just leave it?

I don't want to make an app to see a doctor if it's nothing to be worried about, especially as i'm feeling ok, i'll just feel like i'm wasting their time.

Does anyone know why this may be, or has it happened to anyone else? Maybe it's just a normal part of 3rd trimester I wasn't aware of??

    Any advise would be appreciated!

I would get it checked out ASAP. It could be nothing but it is worth checking.

This can happen due to long term irritation to the mucosa that lines your upper digestive tracts... Long term vomiting or coughing can cause irritation...

I would think this is the likely cause in the absence of any other pain.

HOWEVER you need to have a medical asessment ASAP. If it is not the above it could be a potentially dangerous situation.

Call the Dr. today and ask to be seen TODAY my love...

vomiting blood can mean lots of things, some really serious, others not so much.

Go to the doc ok. Better to be safe then sorry, especially when you have a little bubba in tum to worry about as well.

I remember vomiting a small amount of blood during my last pregnancy... I think it was just due to my esophagus being irritated.

Thanks for taking the time to reply!

Well i've just been to the Dr, bub is fine but I have a suspected stomach ulcer So I have to take meds for a few days and if it happens again i'm to go straight to hospital.

Still a little confused by it all and what the Dr said, but hopefully it settles down.
