How much would you expect to pay a nanny from 5.30pm- 8am for 10 nights?
And if required for the day as well, ie- the 24 hour period- how much would you expect to pay for that day?
3 kids
Trying to work out how much I need to charge to be considered for the job, but not be ripped off and charged too little!
Depends what city you're in, how old the kids are, what care is required in that time.
Why don't you ring a local nanny agency, pretend you're a parent and enquire? Then undercut that, depending on whether you want to charge yourself out at cash or taxed rates.
In melbourne
I know the family were quoted $2000 by someone else or an agency, and thought that was a bit steep.
The kids are 5,6 and 10. I'll be cooking dinners, doing the bath and homework thing with them, getting them off to bed (7.30- 8pm, although 10 yr old might be a bit later), caring for the dog, general housework, making lunches and preparing them for school.
I've been thinking $130-$140 a night. And if needed during the day on weekends, $200 for each weekend day.
So in total it would be $1300- $1560.
Does this seem reasonable, or too expensive?
God I miss Melbourne....
Most overnight jobs I got down there paid between $150-250. $150 was for 6pm-10am, one child, $250 was more kids, bigger chunk of the day.
Wow! I had a job when I was about 18 or 19 - so about 15 years ago now, I would pick up 3 girls from school, cook dinner, homework, stay the night, get them ready and off to school next day. For this, I was getting the princly sum of $50/night. Me thinks I was getting ripped!
