OMG that is so wrong!
I just wanted to let everyone know what has happened to me.
I sold items on Ebay recently.
They had a combined total value of just over $1000.
I offered registered post - the buyer declined.
So i posted them regular.
They are now claiming they didnt arrive and Paypal has ordered in their favour as i didnt send registered post.
They dont care that the seller didnt want registered.
Nor that i have done the right thing
Nor that i wrote i didnt take responsibility for AUs Post loosing mail.
Now i am without the product, and have to give a full refull (no options as they take it straight from my account).
So please please please! what ever you do . dont give the option - just sent your items registered and you can have people do this to you and you never know if they were dishonest of not!
xxoo

Yep, I'm thinking of doing this more often, not just for Ebay, but generally. There was a situation recently where i live where a rogue postie was hoarding parcels... but they probably weren't registered ones.
Paypal sucks.
Can you appeal PP? That really bites.
Yep been appealing for about a month.
They sent me this today :
The proof of postage should be a copy of
the actual shipping label on the package that shows the destination address
and the shipping company's stamp to verify the shipment date.
We must receive this information within the next 72 hours. If you do not
reply to us within 72 hours, we will stop investigation on this claim and
find in favor of the buyer.

This is why we only use Registered Post for Secret Santa here on BellyBelly now as well. Not that it comes to over $1000 the secret santa parcels that are sent lol, but same thing applies.
double post.
You should always keep a receipt of the parcel if you don't send via registered post... I always did that for eBay in case someone did a shonky because it does put on the receipt where the postage is going to and how much it costs. Did you keep the receipt?
Aww you poor thing. Unfortunately there is not much more you can do.
Did you lodge an investigation with Australia Post? They can chase up missing parcels for you (even if they're not registered). They only refund up to $50 though for non-registered parcels.
I had a parcel go missing last month, after much chasing up I ended up refunding the customer. The parcel then turned up 1 month late. Luckily the customer sent it back so neither of us were out of pocket in the end.
oh golly gosh that's so wrong can ya tell us who it was so we dont deal with that customer again. my goodness im so sorry thats so wrong!!!!!
oh PP I am sorry this has happened to you. I am always so skeptical when I purchase and sell stuff on ebay that I hound the person on the other end after a week if I either have not heard anything or received anything.
I hope the parcel turns up and that you are not out of pocket, what a terrible terrible experience for you.
Nae x x x
i called auspost and there is nothing they can do - they said it will sit at the po for 1 month and if not claimed by the receiver then do to 'dead mail' and destroyed.
they said there is no way i can contact the dead mail centre.
it is a unfortunate expensive lesson learnt![]()
PP did you have a return address on the items? If they are not collected from the PO then they should be returned if you did have your details on there?
this all works out for you
Nope, you have been told rubbish! I used to work in their call centre and know the ins and outs. Have they rung the local PO's that are close to your buyer? They should have done this as soon as you called them, that is always the first port of call. It's possible the parcel is sitting there and the customer didn't receive a card notifying them. They can also chase up the delivery driver to ask if they remember a parcel delivered to that address. Did you have your return address on it? If so, there is no reason it won't make it's way back to you if there was a problem with the buyer's address. It won't end up at the dead mail centre if it has a correct address on it somewhere. (And they don't destroy good items, the auction them LOL!)
Push them to call around for you, it's their job!
