I recently found out I'm pregnant after having a miscarriage last year and a stillbirth in Feburary, because of this the doctor said I would be having more scans this time to make sure everything's going ok. So I booked in for my first scan tomorrow but because I started bleeding last week I was sent to have a scan on Thursaday. This all happened after I had already made the appointment for tomorrow and now I'm not sure if I should keep tomorrows appointment.
The bleeding has continued off and on since the last ultrasound so my husband wants me to go to see whats going on, incase I've lost the baby or something possible serious is going on that they didn't pick up last time (kind of like a second opinion I spose). I'm worried and would like nothing more to go and try to find out whats going on, but I'm also worried that it is possible to have to many scans and that 2 in one week may be just that.
So what do you think? Is there such thing as to many ultrasounds? Is 2 in one week too many? Should I go to see if I have lost the baby or sweat it out until I can get into a doctor? (Which wont be until next week).
Kam, I'm really not sure whether having 2 ultrasounds within a week is ok or not I'm sure someone here will know but I was also like you with my last pregnancy and had quite a few scans. I know what it's like wanting to be reassured. Hope everything turns out all fine for you and bubs is doing well.
Personally I wouldn't worry about having 2 scans in one week hun, especially if it meant determining the viablity of my pregnancy.
I am havign two scans this week and I am much further in than you. I have no problem with the number of scans as long as my pregnancy and baby travel the distance all ok.
I had alot of scans with my last pregnany, at least once a fortnight from 18 weeks.
With this pregnancy I have had had 3 so far I had two in the one day and one two days later, so 3 in 48 hours, this does not concern me as long as I know everything is ok with baby.
I too have had many scans in my first pg and now quite a few again in this pg. I was reluctant to have so many scans this time as I am concerned about the impacts this could have on bub. BUT I decided to weigh up the need vs possible risks on each scan and so I have gone ahead with most of the suggested ones.
I would personally go for the earlier scan to see what is going on. It might make a difference. I bled a lot in my first pg and a scan showed a loss of a twin but with bed rest for a week I kept the other baby - he turned 5 today!
