Anyone done a HRT FET?
Does the HRT totally stop your period? Like totally?
Just wondering![]()

Hi Futuremum,
Do you mean 'does the HRT stop you from getting AF after your transfer'?
I have done 3 x HRT FETs, I found they didn't treat me very well, always started progynova when AF arrived, ET was with 3 day embies about CD19, I did 3 back to back, AF arrived the equivalent of 9dpo, 10dpo and 17dpo for those three cycles. So a bit all over the place. Are you waiting on AF after a HRT FET cycle, ohhh I hope it is a BFP. Fingers crossed for you, xx
I was advised that you don't get AF when doing a HRT FET until you stop all your medication (pills and pessaries). However I have done only one and I did not get my AF - but I was pregnant! Hoping you get your BFP.

if you do a fully medicated cycle (estrogen until a simulated "o" date when lining thick enough, the combined estrogen and progesterone until BT) you shouldn't get a visit from AF - AF arrives when your progesterone levels drop. if you're doing a HRT FET you'll find that, when you get your BFP, you have to stay on the meds til around 10-12 weeks.
i had two medicated FET's and didn't get AF either time until several days after stopping the meds.
some people only have partially medicated cycles - estrogen supplements to help develop lining, and then they O naturally and produce their own progesterone from corpus luteum - in this case, AF will arrive whenever the progesterone falls if the cycle is unsuccessful
Hi, just clarifying that my HRT cycles were estrogen (progynova) then prog pessaries from simulated O date, despite prog support I still got AF early in two instances, obvioulsy HRT cycles were not suited to me![]()
For my BFN cycle, the crinone did not keep AF away - she arrived right on schedule...but over the past year, I've seen from the many posts on this topic that everyone reacts differently - it does work to keep AF away for some even with a bfn.
This cycle, I've been on Progynova since CD 6 and using an Estradot patch (Estrogen patch) since night of ET. Does anyone know whether additional estrogen has any impact on AF? or is it only the progesterone that can (for some) keep AF away?
Hello everyone thanks for your replies
I suppose I should have been a bit clearer but yes having never done a FET before I mean does the HRT stop you from getting AF after your transfer? I've been on crinone before and most times AF arrived before the BT
I'm on progynova and progesterone pressaries, as there's no sign of AF I was just hoping.. well you know
Oh BT is Wed 29th![]()
if af is due, it's possibly a good sign but unfortunately, unless you've had the pessaries before and know how your body responds, it's hard to say for sure. if BT is still 6 days away, it's still very early in the piece too
good luck - here's hoping AF doesn't visit for quite some time

Goodluck futuremum, I hope you get your BFP !!!!

FM - it may not be too early to do a sensitive POAS - like First Response. But you need to be able to view a bfn and understand that it may just be too early.
Thanks, I don't usually do POAS although it crosses my mind everytime, I go to buy one and DH tells me off![]()
DH hates them too. I have to do it in secret. But I do think our DHs are right but I usually can't take the waiting when it roils into the 2nd week.
Yeah was thinking of buying one in secret this time but I probably won't *sigh*
Spoke to the nurse today told her I'd had no signs of AF she said yeah it's just the medications
Only way to tell definately is by the BT
FutureMum - is your test tomorrow? Good Luck!
thanks
