We ditched the lunch time one first & then the morning one. We've been one bedtime only for about 10 days & going well![]()
So, it's been over 6 weeks since we cut out night feeds and still no af. We now have 3 feeds per day (and sometimes a fourth) - breakfast, nap, bedtime.
Which do you reckon would be easiest to drop next? Funnily enough, though he's dead keen at bed time, he often only has a small amount then so was thinking maybe that one. but then again, maybe first thing in the morning would be better - just get up and have breakfast right away to distract him from it...
And, how do you gradually cut out a feed over a week or so? Just cut it shorter and shorter? All at once?...?
Thanks,

Thanks Sarah - good effort! Glad it's going well for you guys.
Since he's feeding to sleep for naptime most days I think that will probably be the last to go...![]()
Sorry for the quick short reply earlier, little miss wanted me
I think it depends on which feed they "need" more. For Juliette the lunchtime one wasn't too important, she was too busy playing at that time. So if you think that one needs to stay, I say keep it. Just remove whichever one you think will be easiest IMO.
I would be inclined to let go of the brekky one - just straight to brekky and fun with mum!
And see how your boobies go, but I would try and just stop cold turkey, rather than say every second day for a couple of weeks first etc - too confusing for the littlies.
That's what I was thinking, but how to avoid the lumps & bumps? The other day he had 1 side at bed time and by morning the other side was lumpy and sore and it took 2 days of feeding to get it right again...
Maybe cutting out lunch would be better so roughly 12 hours between feeds? I actually got him to down for a nap today (2hrs total!!) without feeding to sleep, so that's promising. Just have to keep it up.
