I was thinking today I would make some traditional Honey Biscuits with DS. DH has been away for a week & I'm needing some things to fill the weekend. Anywho, I got up this morning & dug out the recipe my MIL gave to me years ago that I have never read & it's really vague
It tells me I need to let the dough sit overnight....is this so? And it just says mix, but is it not a dough? Do I need to use my dough hook in my mix master to mix it? Help I have no idea LOL
Do you mean biscuits like honey jumbles? If so, then yes the dough needs to rest, the recipe I use says an hour in the fridge. The dough is easy enough mixed with a big wooden spoon, then finish off by hand on a floured surface till no longer sticky. It does not need to be overly kneaded, so I would not bother with a dough hook.
There is a really great recipe for Honey Jumble biscuits in this months issue of Super Food Ideas (August 2009). Page 77.
If you don't get around to buying a copy, give it a couple of months - all their recipes seem to go online eventually (and even though I buy the mags I usually just get them off line because it takes less time to search their website than to go through all my mags and remember where each recipe came from).
