How long did it take you to recover from your CS?

    Hi,

Just wondering how long it has taken others to recover from their CS... I'm coming close to three weeks now. I've had a few good days where I haven't needed to take any pain relief (starting from roughly 1 week after), but then I seem to have a set back and end up in a bit of pain and need to take something. The thing is I'm never really sure what I've done to set myself back, I'll get up to do a feed in the middle of the night and be in pain, or it will just come on randomly. Is this a normal part of the healing process, or is it likely that I'm pushing myself to hard and setting myself back?

    Hi,

I have had 2 c-sections. The first took me around 3 months for no pain. Yet I still get itchy there sometimes. This was 4 years ago now.

My second c-section I got over quicker. But was still at least 8 weeks.

Best not to do anything strenuous for about 3 months. Its normal though for one day to be ok and the next to feel pain. As you are probably aware, you use your stomach muscles for more than you realise and sometime you may just get up or roll over or pick something up the wrong way and put a bit of strain on the healing muscle then it feels sore again.

    Give yourself time.
